    One pocket question

You found out too late; I would say it isn't a 1P question it is a game question; in that situation the game becomes void, but that is a "whatever you agreed on is just fine" because you both agreed about how to deal with it.

We look over the stick not through it, when we hit draw our line of sight (that is over the stick) and the point that the tip actually contacts the CB are close together, as we move up the vertical axis and put follow on the ball now our line of sight and the point that the tip contacts the CB...

    Over, under or center

I have no intention of offending either of you but; IMO he stated the obvious: Because as you move the tip contact point further up the vertical axis your line of sight and tip contact point diverge. At least that is my reason. This is not generally what pool players mean when they say...

The (Mostly) Current LD Shaft Poll

Take this shot; you come to the $ ball where a 1/2 ball hit puts it center pocket, you can reach it easily, the OB is 1/2 a diamond from the pocket and the CB is 1/2 a diamond away from the OB. Most players aren't going to put english on this (notice I said most). Most are going to hit this with...

    Low Deflection 13mm Shafts

The McDermott G-Core is a 13mm although it is not marketed as an "LD" shaft it is marketed as a "high performance" shaft but I have one and it deflects a lot less than a standard shaft, it is kind of the 1/2 way mark between the 2.

Yea my dad said the same thing he even made a mockery of such things by saying. "Just remember these 2 sayings and you'll be fine" 1. "Hit it thin and you're sure to win" 2. "Hit it thick; that's the trick". It took me years to figure out what he was actually saying. You could say "follow for...

    Need help

Then stand almost straight up, it's like the patient that says to the doctor "if I stand up I feel like I am going to faint" and the doctor says "well don't stand up" same with you just in reverse. If you watch a lot of 3 cushion billiards you will see this; Fats and plenty of older players...

Yes I know you are the reason for the poll and I have to say I am a little surprised by the result I would have thought it would lean to below, it seems to be dead even; I am glad for your post in the other thread to, thanks for your posts.

I know there are those that will come up with all kinds of "this can't be answered" answers, that's fine I will try to accommodate you as best I can, I am talking about "hairs" of tip offset; you know mms. Byrne said in his Standard book that "most players in their heart of hearts would rather...

Center CB Rules Most Of The Time

We are talking about "hairs" of tip offset.:scratchhead: I assumed I was in the majority, maybe I am wrong, I will take a poll.

Making your opponents shoot every shot or concede out of respect?

I think that it is 1 out of 100 that are meant to be otherwise, this is not surprising.

Questions regarding Duration of Contact between cueball and tip.

You mean I can't "really" "accelerate through the CB"?:crying:

Making your opponents shoot every shot or concede out of respect?

Very interesting viewpoints! I might have something nobody has mentioned yet. Lots of players don't want to go through the mental strain of having the winning ball(s) pocketed on them so they just "give them the game". When I was a kid (early 20's) I was at Chris's in Chicago and I was watching...

Center CB Rules Most Of The Time

The 2 biggest problems with "hit centerball" advice as opposed to "use tip offset sparingly" is that when you hit centerball the CB is sliding along the cloth (stop/stun) this is also true (at most distances, unless you are quite close) of the hair below center, this shot is also more accurate...
