    Elephant Ear wrap questions

I have a -R- cue with an elephant ear wrap...it is soft and supple, "grippy" but not because of a coarse texture...it has an almost spongy feel to it. I think there is some variance to the texture of elephant ear.

    Sold 60" Gulyassy PHX Cue

I've got a very similar set up as my player...these cues hit fantastic!

For those down in TX, MS, LA, AL waiting on me for work...

Everyone I knew that lost life or limb on a motorcycle were experienced riders with years and years on two wheels. You can't drive for the other knuckleheads on the road.

    Problem shooting straight in shots

I think Mike Davis does this...it's a pump handle stroke. He claims he took it up during his formative years, it worked and he kept it. Not that it's advisable. But, as said many times here, there are some pretty funky ill-advised strokes in some top players that can't be explained and...

    Problem shooting straight in shots

When I start having problems with straight in shots, I do a CTE Pro 1 sweep...left edge to left edge, pivot center as I set in, and I drill them. Works great for break shots, too. I've monkeyed around with CTE on all shots, but haven't spent a lot of time on it...but straight in shots it works...

Does anyone know what this cue is? It might be stolen

How many people on here have ever taken a pool cue they owned to a pawn shop? If I own a cue and need the money, no doubt I can find a buyer to give me decent value. Not implying only stolen goods end up in a pawn shop, that's obviously NOT true...but cues? There are a lot of things I'd pawn...

    Pool Movie Ideas

This is an awesome idea...would have appeal outside the pool fanatics' world, too, especially if it splits the story between the two, culminating in their World Championship match with all the drama of race, reputation and mutual respect; lots of story here... I still think a biopic on the rise...

    Favorite quote from Pool Movies

"Kid, I don't rattle!" "Just for that I'm gonna beat you flat out." (crushing break shot) "That's one..."

    Willie Mosconi's first world championship

I've seen this on YouTube before...I'm pretty sure that it was a televised/dramatized exhibition demonstrating the shot from their match played some time much earlier than the tv show...the clip I saw had a lot of side story on his son being born while he was playing. There was some back in...

    Idea for Diamond Mod

I had my pockets tightened from 4 1/2 to 4 3/8s...not much of a reduction, but I like it and with the deep shelf on the Diamond slate, anything tighter is almost unplayable IMHO. You can get away with gaffing up a Brunswick with 3 3/8 inch pockets and still shoot standard shots, but the Diamond...

    Gold Crown 4... I can't stand the gold/brass trim

Someone on here posted photos of their table with all the metal castings powdercoated in glossy black...it was bad-a$$! :)

    I met an "instructer" LOL

I ran into a pool room owner in California back in the early 90s who was BCA certified (he had papers on the wall to prove it); and he swore you couldn't masse a ball without raising the butt of the cue above your shoulder. I masse'd the CB around a full ball and was nowhere near my shoulder...

    Keeping table clean

Yes. Brushes just move chalk, not re-move it. Vacuum and damp cloth works best. I use an X1 once or twice a session, it seems to work okay, but not great. It relies on static electricity to pick up chalk, and if it's humid out, doesn't seem to grab much. When it's dry out, it works great...

Diamond 9' professional table dymalux vs oak?

My pro-am is in my garage (Northern Virginia) for over a year now, and the rosewood stained oak rails are still just as nice as when they came off the truck. Except for the traffic I've put on the cloth (3 hours per day), it's like new. That table has held up just great, will do more than...

    shaft edge to contact point

I tried it off and on for about a year...works great 1/2 ball to 3/4 ball hit; any thinner and you're winging it. As you get thicker than 3/4 ball hit, you start to adjust toward the middle of the ferrule to contact point. Takes a while to dial it in on many shots...plus any extreme English...

    Two shafts...obsessive?

My reason is simple...when the tip finally gets too thin, there's not always a tip guy standing right there to replace it; then I always have the other to use until I get it re-tipped. Plus, I rotate them frequently.

    Color of money question

He was hustled by being beat by his own pride...he just couldn't play as well as he used to and couldn't accept it. Although not expressed the same way, it was in the COM book. The whole book is about Eddie's desire to get his speed back and compete at the top level, after having lost most of...

What happened to Tony Anagoni ??

Don't know... Could've been, but I seem to remember his first name as Joe or Jose. He was in his mid 20s, stocky with feathered medium length hair, usually wore a ball cap. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk
