Gold Crown 4... I can't stand the gold/brass trim

I'm in the market for a Gold Crown and want a 1 but not opposed to a 4. The problem for me is the color of the corner castings, rail trim etc. I assume powder coating would be the best option. A couple things come to mind. One being what color, the other how easy does the rail trim come off? What are your thoughts and ideas?

I also was not a fan of the corner castings and rail trim, but i bought the table for $900 so i dealt with it. I ended up taking the rail trim off which is very easy (5 screws) and painted them flat black. I think it looks pretty good now

Could be worser...i have a gc4 that is black/ chrome and the chrome corners are far too reflective.

I would like to go gunmetal grey, but that would take effort.

The trims on the GC 1, 2 & 4 come off very easy. Its the 3's that are a son of a b*!tch. I use powder coating on 99% of all my GC restorations because of: durability, variety of color options, low maintenance and its very reasonable on the wallet.

I use https://www.prismaticpowders.com/ for powder and it takes 2-3 lbs for all of the metal on the table. They have an applicator locator on their site. I pay $225 per job, not sure what others charge, but, what I pay seems very fair to me.

I usually use the "vein" style coating, it has a texture and is smooth to the touch. The reason is because the metal usually has flaws in it. If you use a smooth powder coating, any imperfections in the metal will show. The vein style allows the applicator to build up the coating and it fills all the scratches and small imperfections.

If you are gonna play on the table a lot, in my opinion, this is the best solution.

Good Luck to you!

Very useful information. Thanks!

Someone on here posted photos of their table with all the metal castings powdercoated in glossy black...it was bad-a$$! :)
