What happened to Tony Anagoni ??

I knew Tony and played him several times in a local tournament at Bow Tie Billiards in Monterey California, right after the release of Playing of the Rail. He was briefly the "house pro" at Blue Fin Billiards on Cannery Row. I met McCumber, too, they used to hold court and promote the book...

    Long Cue Review 68 inches

6 years ago, I moved to a 60" cue, then added a 4" extension (64" total). Now I shoot with a standard 58" cue with a 4" extension (62") which seems to be my sweet spot. I found immediate improvement with the extra length, which I attribute to improved mechanics (straighter stroke, able to more...

    How rude is this?

Are you joking a bit? I ALWAYS flip on the table, don't trust a flip I can't see land. Are people butt hurt over a coin on the cloth? :frown:

    Mike Gullassy Cues

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=441433 Many will accuse me of being a shameless fan boy, but I'll wear that...I've hit with just about everything over the past 30 years, and nothing comes close for me. This was Mike's player for about a year, then I bought it off him (it's a...

    Phx

I will attest to anyone it's the best hitting cue I've ever tried. Anyone in Northern VA/DC area want to hit a few to see, hit me up and maybe we can hook up and I'll let you try it out. I'm usually at Whetzel's in Manassas most Saturdays. And no, I'm not selling anything, just an...

Ronnie OSullivans American Hustle Season 1 Episode 1 on Youtube

I really liked it...it is written from the European (British) perspective, and is trying to introduce more than just American pool, but some other aspects of our culture. Very classy and well done.

    long cues

Mine (4 inch screw in extension made of maple with rings) weighs around 2 1/2 oz, I definitely notice it, but love the balance and length it adds to my cue. I've been playing with 60 inch or longer cues for about 5 years now; my current set up is a tad over 62 inches and I love it. For me...

Best value cue and shaft for intermediate and advanced player

IMHO, Gulyassy. He's got a patent-pending butt construction, unique shaft tapers sealed with something that makes them warp resistant, and is coming out with a new proprietary ferule. Not marketing hype, he's spent a lot of time/trial/error coming up with what he thinks is the perfect hitting...

Best Black Players Of All Time

I broke even on two sets of 8 ball for $20 a set with Gabby in Houston back in the early late '80s...he was just about to set the hook in me when he let me see his speed a little on a very tough out, missing a pedestrian shot after slicing balls up the rail like butter and back/cut-banking like...

Your favorite cue builder, if you can only have one cue you have played with

Try a Gulyassy...mine feels like it's about 17 oz, but it's really over 19. Hits best of anything I've ever tried. Really remarkable.

    Cue questions

Ah, the D19...my favorite design of that series! I bought the D23 as a consolation, since the dealer didn't have a D19 at the time, and although I loved it, I always thought of it as "not exactly the one I wanted"! Dave Matlock was shooting with a D23 at the time, so I felt I was in good...

    Extensions butt to shaft

It's the same with after market shafts...guys spend $2k on a custom, made to their specs, then leave the shafts in the case putting on a $150 LD shaft. It's what they prefer...some may go to the bother of having an LD shaft matched to their cue by the custom maker, matching the rings, etc., but...

Why can't other pros break like Shaw and Shane?

Successful breakers (that includes soft break masters like Corey) practice them for hours. Just like the masters of jump shots practice them. Not all pros practice the same things. SVB has been seen spending as much as 3 hours straight doing nothing but breaking...

    longer cue

I've done both...a 4" mid joint extension on a 60" cue (my -R-) and a 4" butt extension on my 58" Gulyassy. I like them both, but for hit and balance, I have come to prefer the butt extension. newsheriffintown here on AZB builds wonderful in joint extensions in either ebony or maple; Mike...

It's a dead horse but...this pic might sum up why USA doesn't win the MC anymore.

Well, let me clarify..."Pot Black" started in 1969, was very popular, but was not tournament coverage. TV coverage of snooker as we know it today started with all three majors being televised in 1984. The World Championship only televised the finals before 1980.

It's a dead horse but...this pic might sum up why USA doesn't win the MC anymore.

The hero/heel approach was done with snooker, too, aka playing off the bad boys (Higgins, White and even O'Sullivan) against the squeaky clean Davis and Hendry or old guard players. The drama of characters and back stories. It could work, and Hearn is the only guy who has been able to bottle...

Northeast, new york or mass... To draw in some Canadians... But can you imagine what he'd do with turning stone, dcc, especially televising the action room? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G925A using Tapatalk
