  1. Mr Hoppe

    Titleist

Chris, I appreciate your ideas on the topic. I was just thinking that if Brunswick was trying to decide between RG and Hoppe, made both, then decided to go forward with Hoppe, wouldn't it be likely that the cue would be the same, but the name on the label and signature on the forearm would be...

Lee Brett's "The Secret Art of Pool" promo

Nice job guys. I have no problem understanding with the accent, and don't think many others will either. I like the concept of "my yard." ;)

    Ornate Bobby Hunter Cue

Nice work Bobby. I like the matching pink ivory butterfly splice. Makes the belt match the shoes.

    Anyone make go/no-go ball gauges?

Your local machine shop could make this for you out of aluminum pretty easily.

    im sorry bobby chamberlin

Heck, half of 1P is banking anyway... using 1P instead of banks seems like a nice compromise to me if John won't play straight banks. I'd like to see this match happen. I paid for it the other two times, well, I bought the DVDs after the fact anyway, and I still enjoy them. :) BTW, John...

    Hotmail users not getting notifications

Using a subscribed thread with e-mail notification as a test, I am not receiving notifications to my hotmail account. I guess this also explains why my AZ membership expired without my knowlege...

There is no doubt in my mind that these are not custom pieces. The production may have been limited, maybe even very limited, but I believe these are production cues none the less. I have a few Rambow's, and it would be interesting to compare the actual tapers, but I have little doubt that...

No way for me to tell if it is full spliced, as my original leather grip is firmly in tact, and the end of the points are beneath it. I do notice, however, that Deno calls it a full spliced cue on the 3C site.

    Kick shot help/ guidance.....

In my opinion, the best compilation of kicking methods on video is presented by Jimmy Ried in his "Almost All I know" series of DVDs. I believe he sells the DVDs via eBay, and they are very reasonably priced for the many hours of instruction that you get. He demonstraits several diamond...

New idea A Teaching DVD for the young

As in everything, the youth is the future. No youth interest = no pool future. The tough part is that most public pool tables are located in bars, and that makes it hard to promote youth participation. IMO, pool programs targeted to the youth are exactly what is needed.

    Sand Your Shaft Or Not?

Sanding your shaft this often is removing the sealer from it and exposing the bare wood to moisture in the air. If you are in a damp environment like PI, this could warp your shaft over time. IMO, there is no reason to sand your shaft on a weekly basis. Keep it sealed, keep it clean, and if...

I own one of these Greenleaf cues, but I am no expert on it. That being said, I see noting about it's materials or construction that prevent it from being made prior to 1950. In fact, if you look at the pics posted on 3cushion, it is very similar to a Hoppe Professional cue, and those were...

    Titleist

No weight stamp or branding of any kind other than the words "Ralph Greenleaf" stamped once above and between the points. The veneer colors are black (or very dark blue), red, mahogany, and maple, and the bumper is white and held in place with a flat screw (not philips.) The pin is in the...
