    Pool table law suit!

Isuedtoberich: I agree with your premise that the company should have fully explained to him this wasn't a normal pool table and therefore it will play differently and must be cared for differently. Unfortunately, this a just one more shining example of how nobody has common sense anymore...

    Can anyone answer this Question!

scsuxci: Did you try the washer experiment I suggested? (Yeah, I was being a smart-aleck, sorry.) But seriously, the washer experiment could tell two things: (1) whether or not the pin is bottoming out, and (2) whether or not there's something weird with the facing of the shaft and the cue. I...

    Can anyone answer this Question!

Ok, maybe I'm wrong about G10. Maybe there is something to the material that would cause the shaft to back off after snugging. I didn't mean to sound like a G10 expert. Now I'm really curious and I'd like to hear more. As I said before, I've only used a couple G10 pins and never experienced the...

    Pool table law suit!

I heard that guy bought a $1,000 bottle of scotch, but the scotch made him have to pee, so he's suing the scotch company for $68,500 to replace his solid gold toilet. Poor guy just isn't having a good year. :(

Where to buy leather for grips?

Get on the internet. Oh... you're there now? Good. Go to Google. Search for "leather pool cue wrap". Sort through the 168,000 results. (Sorry, couldn't resist.) :) Atlas Billiards, Tiger Products, Cue Components, and Cue Man Billiards, just to name a few.

    Players Cue Shaft Sealant Question

Don't know about Gojo, but I've used Soft Scrub for years and have done hundreds of lam shaft cleanings without one reported side effect. I can't see Gojo damaging a lam shaft since Gojo is milder than Soft Scrub. (I'm *assuming* Gojo is milder than Soft Scrub. I sure wouldn't want to rub Soft...

    Can anyone answer this Question!

My above "too much pin for the shaft hole" answer it based solely on your stated fact that the shaft instantly turns back a little bit after snugging the cue together. If you notice your shaft has loosened up a little bit after playing for a while, then it's a different problem. The raw G10...

    Can anyone answer this Question!

You're definitely over-thinking it. To quote myself: "There's nothing magical about G10 that would cause it to happen." Not all cue makers and/or shaft makers set their pins and/or shaft holes exactly the same depth. So, it makes all the sense in the world that brand X shaft doesn't fit onto...

    practicing with your wrong arm

Being ambidextrous at pool is not a horrible thing, regardless of what game you play. Why would being ambidextrous in 9-ball be more important than in straight pool? I would argue that the bigger the table, the more useful being ambidextrous would be. If you practice opposite handed, then you...

    Can anyone answer this Question!

There's nothing magical about G10 that would cause it to happen. I agree with Vasilios: You got too much pin for the shaft hole. (Wish I had that problem!) Have a cue guy drill and tap your shaft hole just a tiny bit deeper.

    Is This A Crazy Idea?

Racking on the other end is the easiest solution. It's like unscrewing the light bulb with your hand. Spinning the table around works, too. But so does holding the light bulb and having your friend spin the ladder. :)

    Future Tech Pool Cue

Who-o-o-o-oa, TheNewSharkster! I'm not holding *anyone* back. If someone wants to make a pool cue device with an accelerometer in it and develop a program that will quantitatively analyze a pool stroke, there's nothing I can do to stop them. I'm just voicing my opinion and questioning the need...

    Types of Cue Tips

The main difference between solid tips and laminated tips is kind of like the difference between solid wood and plywood. As with any natural material, there are flaws in leather. When the solid leather tips are stamped out of the hide, the manufacturer will avoid using the obvious flaws, but...

    Future Tech Pool Cue

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: Some pool players worry about the tiniest, most insignificant details about our wonderful game. Do you wanna know the *REAL* secret to getting better at pool? I'll tell you, but you gotta promise not to tell anyone else. Here it is: practice, and lots...

A White Wash In League Play

I don't know you personally, so perhaps I'm reading into your original post incorrectly. If I'm way off base, I apologize ahead of time. I'm missing the point of your post. Are you bragging? Are you complaining? Are you suggesting that your Friday night team is so good that nobody can beat you...

    g-10 vs 3/8 -10

G10 is a material made of epoxy resin and fiberglass fibers. I don't know for certain, but I assume the only difference between the green and the black is the black dye added to the batch when it's mixed. G10 is made in both sheets and rods, and is NOT just a pool cue industry material. Because...

***In need of help scheduling a pool league***

I don't have a program that automatically does the work, but with a little knowledge of a spreadsheet program such as Excel, you can create a round-robin schedule of any size with my attached instructions. If you need some help, maybe we can trade. For just one of those $100 bills in your...

    Uni-loc radial connecting screws

Nope, but... Just buy 3/8-10 threaded rod instead. You can get aluminum, stainless or brass, and can cut them to any length you want to make any weight connecting screw you want to help perfect the balance of the finished cue. Plus, Radial connecting screws are $6 each, or you can make your own...

Is the game of 14.1 dying a slow death?

Speaking for northern MN and WI, 14.1 is dead. And One Pocket. And Bank Pool. And anything else played on a 9-foot table. There's only one game going up here: 8-Ball on 7-footers. You want action? Well... You're not gonna find any up here! Maybe $5 a rack, or sets for $20 if you spot the world...
