    Predator BK2 break tip?

Odegas are fantastic. IMHO the best leather break tip.

Where Have All The Kamui Chalk Warrior's Gone?

    1. I don't mind chalking my tip, it's such a part of my PSR that I don't even realize I'm doing it, so "you only have to chalk your cue once every X shots" does not apply to me. 2. I only miscue about once or twice a year and it's due to a bad stroke not the chalk. So "I never miscue with Kamui...

    Laminated shaft

My first inclination is that it wouldn't be the best to use laminated shafts. The threads could be cut just fine with live tooling. But, as the cue is torqued together numerous times, the stress on the wooden threads would cause the tiny little glue joints in those threads to fail, leading to...

How a 3C champion (Semih Sayginer) plays 8-ball

Bet it would be all but impossible to hook him and get ball in hand outta him!

    5/16 14 pin

I don't know exactly where I went wrong. I wasn't meaning to go off on a rant. Let me start completely over a little more succinctly and with far less smart-assery: I think the 5/16-14 pin is just fine. I played with a Schon for years and liked the hit of the cue just fine. I've also played...

    5/16 14 pin

Wow! That's not a very Buddha-like response. The OP's original question was "why do some people bash the 5/16-14 pin?" I was simply explaining my belief that the joint pin (and almost everything else in the cue) doesn't has squat to do with pocketing a ball. As proof, I offer up some personal...

    Help with labeling a pin

Measure the diameter across the threads with a caliper. Then count how many threads there are in one inch. That'll give you the info you need. Or, carefully try to screw a Meucci shaft onto the cue. If it goes on without ANY resistance, it's a 5/16-18.

    5/16 14 pin

Sorry, I was being my usual smart-aleck self while trying to make a point. Sometimes the two don't mix. Yes, you are absolutely correct on the mental part. As far as why some people don't like the 5/16-14 pin, I have no idea. Over 25 years of pool, I've played with many different cues with...

    5/16 14 pin

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know what you're saying. But, apparently you didn't understand what I was saying. Go re-read my post. I'll wait... Are you back? Yes, different cues hit differently. Yes, each person has their individual set of likes and dislikes. However, that has nothing to do with...

    BCA Green Fees at Nationals

If you play a lot, greens fees are great. In Vegas, my buddy will play for hours every day. He plays 10 practice games before every match (if time permits) on the exact table we're about to play our match on. He plays in mini's until the wee hours of the morning. For him, greens fees are a good...

In the case of: John Barton vs az

I didn't say John and Joe are EXACTLY the same in EVERY way possible. I simply said that they both stand their ground and don't back down from an argument. That's all I said.

    5/16 14 pin

Please, let's stop b***s****ing ourselves: 5/16-14 vs. 3/8-10 Pro taper vs. European Laminated tip vs. solid leather Master chalk vs. Kamui Long ivory ferrule vs. short plastic ferrule LD shaft vs. regular maple Stainless steel collar vs. plastic light cue vs. heavy None of this stuff makes...

    BCA League Info

In the past, our BCA league was 5 against 5, 25 game format, 10 points for a win, 1 point per ball for a loss, played for 5 round points and the "total" round point. Truthfully, I believe BCA doesn't care exactly how you run your league. They don't dictate games, hdcps, points, etc. Pay your...

In the case of: John Barton vs az

I don't know John Barton personally, nor have I had any business dealings with him, but from what I've read on AZ I think he's a lot like Joe Barringer in the respect that he speaks his mind, and sometimes in doing so he rubs people the wrong way. However, some people in this overly-protective...

Cue extension for a Predator sneaky.

Instead of messing around with the bumper every time you need to use the extension, have an extension made for the middle of your cue. Being a Predator, I'm assuming it has a Uni-Loc Quick Release pin, right? Half twist apart, put the extension on the butt, put the shaft on the extension, half...

    Warped shaft questions

Valid point. I, too, would assume two Z2's would be incredibly consistent. But there's still a few things that could be going on: (1) Do they have the same tip? Out of the same box of tips? Made out of the same slab of animal hide at the tip factory on the same day? Installed by the same cue guy...

    BCA rules...please explain?

They're not playing BCA rules. They're playing Pro Express Rules. Just because the DCC 9-Ball is a BCA point winning event does't mean they HAVE to follow BCA rules. What's so confusing?

    Warped shaft questions

1mm warp isn't enough to throw off all but the absolute best handful of pros in the world. Hell, my original OB1 I bought from Royce in Vegas the first year he was selling them (what's that... 6 years?) has about 1/8" of warp (over 3x the warp of WestElder), and I used it to become a National...

    Warped shaft questions

BINGO!!!!! WestElder, Did you "feel" the difference in shaft flex, wonder what was going on, inspect your shaft, and discover it was oh-so-slightly warped? Or, did you discover your shaft was oh-so-slightly warped, then started to "feel" the difference in flex?

    Money game Question

There aren't any strict rules governing the "gambling" part of money games. There are, however, agreed upon common conventions that may differ in different parts of the country and/or world. So, before you start playing for big money, be sure that all the details are covered. Nothing starts a...
