John Morra can beat any American for the Dough

James Davis senior and junior have beat SVB tournaments. They are super strong short stops. To say no short stop can beat SVB in a tournament is grossly out of context and inaccurate. Syd is dead wrong in that assumption Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

Optical illusions in a pool hall versus home room

I'm moving into a new house with a 2 car garage converted into a room with separate AC in a couple months. I have considered the idea of putting large mirrors on the walls like a workout room. My thoughts are if I see repeating reflections of pool tables then it will mimic a pool hall and...

Optical illusions in a pool hall versus home room

So any home table owners ever noticed that when you play on the same table in a pool hall, the table looks bigger? My table is in a 2 car garage and I notice this problem. It's almost like the table seems bigger in a much bigger room. I know it's a subconscious optical illusion so I don't let...

JD cue repair, this guy is awesome

It never felt right when I played with it. I don't know the right term but inside the handle something was broken. A pool room owner in San Antonio that deals in new and used cues took a look at it and found the issue. I just looked at a message from 2 months ago about the cue, " No my friend,I...

JD cue repair, this guy is awesome

I don't post much anymore, but I felt this should be shared. Joel Dadivas is a quality cue builder especially for the price, I think most know this already. Well I had a cue of his from 2011 that just never felt right. Turned out the cue was damaged on the inside, and I never knew. With some...

Great video showing a prime example of the "wheels coming off"

My title is not meant to be disrespectful to anyone. I just feel I can relate to Beau Runningen in playing amazing one moment then watching it fall apart in the same set. This is a great video that shows how one mistake can shift the momentum and have you clawing to get it back. Beau plays...

Dufferin needing a stripping and refinish

I'm looking for a cue maker that can strip and refinish and old dufferin I have. I wouldn't mind having a nice linen wrap added too. Is anyone interested?

Getting tired playing $100 one pocket.

You are describing my exact problem. I have been learning to grind better lately. One thing that helps is stretching at least once a game. Eye drops help a lot too. You need to set a time limit before starting. Like 4-5 hours is what I shoot for.

    Our Young American Players Lose

You know I do believe that eliminating smoking indoors is a good step in the right direction to get the youth back in the pool halls. Also doing a winter or summer youth league on midday weekends might be the answer.

    Check this app out

First off, thank you for making an app that can do this. It is a great idea. I downloaded the app and payed for Gold membership for one month. I want to give this a serious try. Kudos to you guys for picking a price plan that is very reasonable. Now I completely disagree with a recent AZ poster...

Why Do Low-Squirt Cues Jump Like White Guys?

You want the cue ball to deflect not the shaft during a jump shot. Low deflection cues will naturally want to deflect before the cue ball can deflect into a jumping trajectory.

Pick the smallest spot for the cue ball landing?

Good thread, this is one of my worst habits (getting too lazy to be sure on position). You guys gave good suggestions. I will add them to my practice tonite

Judging other players speed. Staying out of bad games.

This is well said and pretty much what I do. I will play anybody in the world two sets at $50 a piece. It's enough to make you try but not too much to find out how you match up against someone.
