    My Schon ferrule...

If the ferrule is indeed Micarta, I doubt that you can lighten it up without sanding it, and then it will just yellow again. Whatever you do, dont have it replaced. I would guess that you could get a good trade for a new shaft with a little boot if it bothers you. Those old micarta ferrules are...

    cue repair?

If the cuemaker is close by, I'd say, give them the work. If you have to send the cue across the country, I'd look for someone local unless it's a warranty type of repair. I sent a couple of Bill Schick's cues to his shop once for some simple repairs thinking that anyone else working on the cues...

    need new ferrule advice

Go here and buy the books and vid's. http://www.cuesmith.com/index.php?page=book_video The last thing that you want to do is start "winging" it on peoples cues. You will be out of the repair business before you ever get started. The money that repair work brings in is handy, but be confident...

    Customers "modifying" house cues...

Then you have the guy's that will work on a cue for an hour, then claim it as their own. They will try and find some out of the way place to hide "their" cue so that it doesn't get used. This never works and someone else will find the cue and use it, which destroys all work he has done. Next...

Whats the hardest thing to do in cue-making

Other than the the obvious things we struggle with like having enough money to eat and pay bills and buy supplies. Right now I'm trying to get better at doing point and veneer work. I think the missing piece in my puzzle is the lack of machinery. I Constantly have to make adjustments to tweak...

    Old Viking Extreme makeover

This cue was brought to me by a friend. The cue was bought new in the late 70's. It was broken doing the "famous" 5 rail pinch the cue ball against the rail with your cue shot. The break was pretty clean. It's not ready for a breaking contest, but plays as good as ever and should last another 30...

    Hightower Mid-Sized Cue-Smith for sale

Good Luck with the sale. I hope you're not like me. I can have something gathering dust for years and as soon as I sell it, I'll need it like 5 times in one week. You can never have too many lathes if you're gonna do cue work.
