Copyright Schmopyright... at what shaggin point?

True story: I was at a pool hall just outside of Dallas when somebody came up to me and tried to sell me a pirated copy of my own 9 Ball book. Copyright may not mean too much to you - but you have to sit back for a second and see how it affects the author. Copyrights - editing - publishing...

    Instructor in the DFW area

Randy and I talked about that same subject over breakfast last week - I assured Randy - that just like him - I am only dedicated to developing players that virtually come from out of nowhere - guiding them directly to the threshold of banger status - and then releasing them back into the wild...

    bobroberts (Bob Stein)

It has been some time, but I have seen no mention of the passing of bobroberts aka Bob Stein - so I will post it here. My friend Bob passed away in April of 2012. He had been ill for quite some time, and beat the odds over and over again, until he could fight no more. Bob was a big supporter of...

Kevin Trudeau Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Okay ... maybe one comment ... I bet you that Kev's "Electro-Magnetic Chaos Eliminator" will be working overtime in the prison shower! What a stugats! Now ... I may be a self appointed Prophet of Doom that has never amounted to anything sitting at the bar complaining about how I can't rub...

HOTSEAT: Tommy Kennedy v. Shane Van Boening -- 8-8 at the time of this writing

In 1992 - after Tommy beat Archer for the hotseat - Tommy had to wait for Buddy to play Jose - then for Jose to play Archer - then there was a wait before the final ... Trust me ... he'll be ready to play when it is time to play.

break shot? why so much emphasis on smashing the rack?

Hitting them harder doesn't always make more balls, in fact, sometimes I think the velocity will prevent balls from going into the pockets. They just need to drop - and to have the best chance for them to drop, they need to go in at or around "pocket speed". In the video link below, the break I...

    Niels runs 208 this morning

Here is a version of the 208 with commentary. At the end of the video, I put together a collection of all of his break shots to show the consistency that he had in getting basically the same shot - rack after rack. http://youtu.be/dt-isNeP0Gc

    R.I.P. George Fels

We've lost a lot of people in our small circle of friends this year - however, this one has really knocked the wind out of me. George was one of the most supportive and encouraging people I have ever met. We had a lot in common. We both loved pool. We both enjoyed writing about it. We both had...

    The Draw Shot

Keith and the grip - Here is more information on what I described in my last post. It is one of the best posts I have ever read on this forum - http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=1212503&postcount=17

    The Draw Shot

I agree. Develop the accuracy first - once you master that, you can add all that fancy chit. If you watch Keith McCready, he has a similar jerking motion to his draw. I idolized the way Keith would move the cue ball and copied a lot of that, I asked a lot of questions, and then worked on it...

    Ralph Greenleaf -- a rummy?

Just to clarify my earlier post - internal hemorrhaging is caused by the use of substances that contain ethanol - which is not made for human consumption. Many alcoholics turn to the use of products that contain ethanol because they cannot afford consumable alcoholic beverages, or because they...

    Ralph Greenleaf -- a rummy?

Common knowledge. He died at age 50 from an acute internal hemorrhage while waiting to be seen at the emergency room. He had refused to go to the hospital for several days. This is very common occurrence in the later stages of severe alcoholism. Very sad.
