The correct shot is to glue the cue ball behind the 4 and 5. I know they are marketing the tips and showing some of the wild chit you can put on the cue ball, but all I saw was that the out wasn't there, and the flashy shot didn't help the cause. :shrug:

If what you're doing is working, don't screw it up by over-analyzing it. Relax and enjoy it, and forget about "why" - and forget about what you're playing with. Just shoot pool.

Lazy man's way - you can also use a pool table cover (for 7,8 or 9 foot tables) place the cover flat on the floor with the sides tucked under - that would give you a pretty good idea of how much room you have to work with. You could even borrow a cover from someone if you don't want to buy one.
