In Boston for holiday - anyone want to play?

Hi, I'm a "B" player in boston for a few days to visit the family. I love my family, but would also love to sneak out to play a little pool. I don't gamble on anyting more than a drink. Anyone want to hook up tonight, friday anytime, or saturday during the day? I have a car. I've met Pat...

where to play near winnetka / glenvue chicago

Hi, I am a B player in chicago on business. Where would be a good, serious room near winnetka/glenvue where I could watch A players and maybe pick up a friendly, non-money game? Chris' and red shoes seems a bit far. Is there anything in this area? I hate "social", "ball-banger" rooms. I am...

    Ft. Lauderdale area

Hi, I know this has come up before, but I can't seem to find the old thread about the best places to play in the Ft. Lauderdale area. I know Hollywood Billiards, which is nice, but am looking for other options. Would someone mind bumping the old thread up? Also, I'll be in the area for a few...

Boston - anyone want to play?

Thanks for the response. I have a car, and don't mind driving, just in case someone knows a great place within about a half hour drive of Newton. Boston Billiards seems nice during the day, but maybe a lonely place to shoot pool alone at night. I'd love to go there if someone wanted to meet up.

Boston - anyone want to play?

Hi, I'm going to be in Newton tomorrow (tuesday) night. Does anyone want to hit 'em around? I'm not looking to gamble, and haven't hit a ball in quite a while, so don't expect excitement. And, even if no one wants to play, can anyone recommend a good pool room where I could watch good...

    Starting out in Money Games

Why play for money at all? You don't seem very sure if you want to gamble, or for how much, and it doesn't seem that you have much to lose. Betting on pool can kill your love for the game. The good pool gamblers tend to be people who play pool so that they can bet, not the other way around...

Are you ready for WPBA`s US Open 9 Ball in Albuquerque,NM?

That's great Jude. However, I see it differently. I think it shows how weak most of the women in the pro field are. How many men could play in the US Open after first picking up a cue four years ago? How many men at Amsterdam could spot your girlfriend? See the difference?

IPT- What I Have Been Told

The shame of it is that their TV coverage could have been so much better. They should have hired an experienced executive producer and LISTENED to him/her instead of having an associate of KT run the show. There should have been some real "reality" type programming rather than just interviews...

I LOVE these pool fashions! Check them out!

Tom, you sound like a nice guy and a responsible businessman. Hopefully we'll meet in person. I'd love to see your whole line of clothing.

After Seeing Earl vs. Nick VDBerg.

Absolutely not. Earl has always had a tendency for wackiness, but he's really gone off the deep end of late. I saw several of his matches in their entirerty, and he not only couldn't contain himself, but he teetered between depression one minute, and hyperactivity the next. He could probably be...

    And here is KT's letter

What's an employee? I know at least one independent contractor who did work for the IPT who has not been paid.

I LOVE these pool fashions! Check them out!

They'd both look a hell of a lot better without those cigarettes. Just the image the sport of pool needs.

My Visit To The IPT Office And Conversation With Deno Andrews

Has anything been written in Billiards Digest or the other pool magazines about any of this? Where is Mike Geffner's column when you need it?

    There's Hope!!!

How ridiculous. I can't believe that anyone would think Linda would make something like this up. She's well known in pool circles, and certainly not a liar.

    Amsterdam Billiards (NYC)

So Amsterdam is still open? When do they close, and when will the new one open?

    Amsterdam Billiards (NYC)

Queens? Forget it. I guess I'll have to skip playing pool when I'm in NYC (Manhattan!) this November.

Pool personalities: Which one are you?

#19: The Professors. Solid B+ players who are not "natural" players, and therefore have had to study and analyze the game to get where they are. They read all the magazines and own all the books, and are often BCA master instructors. They coach better than they play, and often toute dubious...
