Places to play in Fairfield, Mass

I will be in Fairfield Mass starting Sunday the 11th and leaving Friday the 16th. Does anybody have any suggestions on where to play?? I am just looking for a place to bang the balls around or find a friendly game. I prefer 14.1 but will play some 1pocket or any other game. Thanks in advance, Andy

    Some 14.1 Shots

Thanks, I have seen and tried some of these already, but its great to have them in a high quality video where you can see exactly where the cue ball is hitting. Andy

I'm very disappointed with Triangle Billiards, Orange CA.

I am not a lawyer (and did not sleep at a holiday inn), but this sounds like fraud to me. If the insurance company paid $1000 for replacement Brunswick slates and Triangle Billiards used $500 slates was the end customer defrauded? I don't know but it might be worth talking to a lawyer or Distrct...

    Missing Blackjack's input.

David, I don't post very often however I do spend alot of time reading just about everything on AZ. I always looked forward to your posts and videos, they have helped me tremendously and your input will be sorely missed. As a member of the (semi) Silent Majority on AZ I want to thank you for all...

you know what sux?! missing at 92!!!

Gerry, Stop by the pool hall sometime and I'll teach you how to miss at 6, I do it all the time. ): I can also teach you how to miss short straight in shots and hangers. As a bonus I'll teach you how to scratch from anywhere on the table. Pissin and Moaning about missing at 92 should be illegal...

SJD,$Bill, Jay,Grady, Freddie, Island Drive, HELP

I have been married for 3 great years, the other 22 have been hell. I'm not talking about 3 years in a row either, more like an hour here and 30 minutes there but it adds up to about 3 years. We actually had one great day about 13 years ago (I think she was out of town).  :smile...

    Health benefits of playing pool

Another benefit to playing pool is that Pool Halls, Basements, and Garages are guaranteed to block up to 99.9% of harmful UV rays. Therefore playing pool also helps prevent skin cancer better than any sunblock could. Andy

    Can we talk?

Hey Mully, No problem with you. I was just in a smart a$$ mood and trying to be sarcastic. Good luck with your game. Andy

    Can we talk?

Well EXCUUUUUSE Me. I guess the pro's use their cue to point to a spot on the table just to show the audience how good they are at getting position. Sorry Mully, once again I am wrong (I'm married it happens all the time). Andy

    Can we talk?

Verbalizing your plans is a good way to solidify them in your mind. I find that I can sink more balls if I call my shot out loud, it seems to make me focus more on the job at hand instead of worrying about my next shot. When you see the pro's point to a spot on the table where they want the cue...

    2008 AZ Straight Pool Challenge!

High Run Today my opponent missed the break ball but split the rack wide open and I ran out the rack :D !! Then I missed the break ball but split the rack wide open  !! Rug under existing table....

I think you will be much more comfortable with an 8 foot table. The easiet way to check is to put a 4x8 sheet of plywood on a pair of sawhorses. It will be a little low but it will give you an idea about how much room you have. The plywood idea is not mine, I saw it in another thread but am to...

    Negative talk and thoughts

3andStop is on the right track. 14.1, 8-ball, One Pocket, Golf, 3-ball, 9-ball etc. all offer different aspects, tactics, and skills. IMHO you should play many different games and learn the lessons and skills of each one. As for the kidding smile on the outside then grit your teeth and get an...

    Big cueballs...what a difference

A BIG cue ball, slow cloth, crooked cues, and dead rails. These are the facts of life in a bar. Just remember that the equipment is the same for everybody and the better player should win in the long run. Adapt and Overcome. Andy

    Shooting Hard

When I shoot hard I have a tendencie to tighten my grip. This changes just about everything in my stroke and its a crap shoot if the cue ball is going where I am aiming it. It helps if I think smooth and strong rather than hard. Hope this helps, Andy

    Ball-in-hand ethical question

If you expect your opponent to call all of your fouls and know when and if they have ball in hand what happens if: Your opponent (from their vantage point of 3 to 12 feet and possibly a bad angle) sees what they think is a foul. If they walk up to the table and take ball in hand how can you...

    am I too smart??

It hurts when I think Hu. I feel your pain. I am doing exactly the same thing right now for pretty much the same reasons. We can only hope that it is one step back and two steps forward. If things don't change soon I will have to find a way to silence the voices once and for all :) . Andy...
