Laser rack -- anyone used it?

I just got a chance to use the Laser-Rack here TODAY on my home table, and I was very impressed with the strong construction, the ease of use, and the accuracy. It's difficult to imagine any other methodology that would be more accurate. Not only an excellent product, but the inventor Abe...

True story: Earl and Johnny shooting pool on FastMikie's home table

JoeyA: Have you been reading my "Other Life" blog? It seems you have! Now that you have brought up the subject, it seems important to share it with others who may have missed some of what you read, and therefore may have got the wrong idea (that my life has always been perfect, filled with...

True story: Earl and Johnny shooting pool on FastMikie's home table

Excellent example of the wrist twist. What struck me as so amazing is that both Earl and Johnny both do it, and they say they have always been doing it, didn't get it from each other, and started playing pool in different places. So no known common source for it.

True story: Earl and Johnny shooting pool on FastMikie's home table

So Earl says to me: "Put this in your pants...." Here's a little bit of follow up on the event, and some questions: 1. How much did it cost for the private audience with the gods? Well that's a good question, but since it was a business deal with them, I think it would be a good idea to...

True story: Earl and Johnny shooting pool on FastMikie's home table

Here's what happened when we worked on my draw shot. It was one of the more memorable, and funny, parts of the evening: http://poolshooter.blogspot.com/2008/07/flashback-1-staying-down-with-little.html Good luck!

True story: Earl and Johnny shooting pool on FastMikie's home table

Last night, Earl The Pearl Strickland and Johnny The Scorpion Archer walked through my front door and put in several hours on my pool table. Not your typical show doing trick/stroke shots, but giving me real, personalized high-intensity lessons. I'm not likely to forget the event for a long...

Looking for Details on Doing Breathing Exercises While Waiting for Your Turn

Cuebacca... Ok, thanks for waiting until after my morning breathing (and stretching) exercises to respond more fully to your question about breathing as a way to deal with some of the frustrations involved in billiards competition. I've read the reference given by JoeW (above) and it is good...

Looking for Details on Doing Breathing Exercises While Waiting for Your Turn

Breathing is something we all do of course, and most people give zero thought to it and almost none of the pool literature even mention it. But focused breathing is one of the most powerful things you can do for your your game, and for your life. Yes, there are books on it. (Google, Amazon...

    Cam to record pool

Thanks, SloRoller... I had never seen that shot before, but when my back was up against the wall and I needed a shot, that 11 was looking so fat I couldn't resist trying it. Magical, I tell ya... shots like that is what keeps us (me, anyway) coming back to the table! All the best, M.

    Cam to record pool

I use a Canon HG10. It does High Definition and records to its own hard disk, no more tapes! It holds as much as 5 hours of video, in HD. I transfer only the clips I want to a Mac, using iMovie08 software (free). Works great. Check the angle of my pool videos at this YouTube link. There's...

    where to find chalk holder

Yo, Str8... it's a 2 cam, long nose, 1966. Here's the link to the post on AZ where I tell all about it: http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=1282546&postcount=44 I'm thinking that your avatar is the notorious "Breadvan" 250 GT, right? Did/do you own it?

    where to find chalk holder

That's a slick little chalk case. I just ordered one. I also like the idea of the desiccant to keep the chalk dry. Thanks!

    AZBilliards Member Survey

JoeyA... What is most incredible about Carol is the fact that she has been my cook for the last 23 years, so over that time I have been able to perfect her cooking style to my very exacting standards (I prefer French cuisine, and the sauces... OOOOOMG!!) Can you imagine every day for 23 years...

    investors needed

Here are a few suggestions, based on what I have read so far in this thread, and based on my 50+ years of starting and running successful startups, and helping others start & run their businesses (click here for more info on that): 1. If there is any way whatsoever that you can do this without...

    Billiards in a honduras prison

Hmmm..... don't think so... the CAR was 12 years old, not me. I was 36 at the time. I bought it in 1978, it was a 1966 Ferrari, so... it was 12 years old, right? am I missing something?

    Predator Blak Case

I have the Willie Hoppe cue, the new one from Predator AND the original one that I bought 50 years ago for 15 bucks. I use the new one for a break cue and I keep the old one in the closet. I retired it right after I beat Loree Jon Jones with it. You knew there was going to be a story...

    Billiards in a honduras prison

Thank you for noticing! Now I have an excuse to tell you the story. I am, like many people on this forum, completely obsessed with pool, but there was a time when I was totally obsessed with my Ferrari. There was never a time when I could do both, own a Ferrari and shoot pool. The car in the...

A New Game Idea. Pros and Cons Please?

Maybe something like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H06YNt0lIjI It's a drill from the PAT Level 2. Maybe if you had to go 12 rails total, or got one point per rail, plus one point per ball pocketed, that could make it more interesting. I really like the multi-rail position shots. They...

    Billiards in a honduras prison

Sorry, no spare bedroom, but I do have a hammock (made in Honduras, coincidentally) on the balcony. FastMikie's Fun House is kinda small. 1300 s.f. condo. the spare bedroom is an office now. Check this link for some photos of the place: http://www.michaelmccafferty.com/MFH4.htm Enjoy...
