Do any of you polish your balls by hand?

The polishers are just a convenience. I polish them regularly while watching something mindless on tv. If you want to polish them everyday then a ball machine is probably worthwhile, otherwise a few rags and a bottle of car polish or the arimith stuff made for it.

    My final word

While you're post wasn't bad until the last bit of drivel and while having the utmost respect for Bill Incardona's knowledge of the pool world, I think only a total fool would not be suspicious of any promised event in the pool world. How many times do these events prove to be a ripoff or to be...

    Surgery For Old Eyes

Lot of money and it would scare the crap out of me, I'll pass. I saw this thing on tv once of an operation performed in South America, they removed the lense from the eye then quick froze them and put them in a miniature lathe like apparatus, "turned them down" to have the correct curvature for...

Don't Forget the accu-stats gameshow tonight

I don't know it this will work, but it is good to see people like Pat and the TAR folks trying to be a little innovative and boast the game of pool. Of course, they're planning to make money from it eventually, but at least they're doing something.

Why does my cue play so well?

Okay you force me to be serious. I doubt very much you can duplicate one cue's performance in another cue. You probably come quite close, but it sounds like that cue just happens to fit you like a glove and it is probably as much chance as good construction. Good construction gets you in the...

APA CHEATING ON THE SCORE SHEET- what to do?

    Unquestionably a ridiculous post.

APA CHEATING ON THE SCORE SHEET- what to do?

Kind of OT I guess, but what does a 90% vs. 100% handicap league mean?

Has Pool/Billiards cost you a divorce?

Isn't it just grand to have a wife like that? I've been married 33 years and raised 4 kids, but I don't know many people except my wife who could have put up with me that long. I wasn't out playing pool every night, but I presented her with other "challenges". We're two lucky guys.

Has Pool/Billiards cost you a divorce?

Joe, I don't always agree with you, but I've got to say I'm absolutely on board with you on this one. Family first! I know the study of which you speak and read it about the same time. To the OP, I won't pretend to be in a position to advise you, but if you and your wife have children please...

Pat Flemming is looking for input

I saw it last night for the first time. Pat's ceaseless chatter is what makes it work. It is also interesting to see regular players, making regular player mistakes. I also found it interesting to see somebody I had played at SBE playing (and winning). The only problem I see with it is the...

New England Hall of Fame Inductees "Class of 2009"

Accu Billiards could use some restructuring. Fortunately they've maintained the interior and the equipment, but the outside has really deteriorated. Too bad they don't get back on the Joss Tour, it is a great venue for watching matches. Good luck with your move to Snookers.

New England Hall of Fame Inductees "Class of 2009"

Snookers? Is this the same organization that I think used to be centered out of Accu Billiards in New Bedford?

old guys wearing hustlin usa gear?

I disagree with that to a point. The young may think that it is their word and I understand why, but the term has been used to mean a con (not just hustling pool) for a lot longer than my life and I'm 63. He probably thought it was weird because old guys usually see trendy stuff like that for...

Acceptable Win to Loss Ration in Gambling

I have absolutely 0 tolerance for loss, that is why I don't gamble. I gamble a little a poker because that is how you keep score and any losses are the cost of entertainment. Playing pool is entertaining in and of it self and I don't need to bet to know if I won or lost. Steve. <== Only bets on...

old guys wearing hustlin usa gear?

I heard a similar but different story which I tend to find more believable. Namely that clothing in prison is ill-fitting and off rides low anyway even if you try to wear it hip high. When these guys returned to the street they started wearing there civilian pants low to indicate they'd been...

old guys wearing hustlin usa gear?

That is the other side of the coin. I don't and won't gamble and wouldn't wear a Hustlin' USA shirt even if I did, but I got to wonder how many who do wear the hustlin' clothing never make a bet.
