Do any of you polish your balls by hand?

Somewhere among the plethora of jokes about "the boys" that are sure to come, I'm wondering if some sort of power is needed to properly clean and polish pool balls or if it is just a matter of time and convenience to use a machine?

I don't mind doing it by hand on some regular basis while watching TV, if it can be effective. But if it's kind of like burnishing a shaft (you can do it by hand but never near the results of using a lathe) then I will go ahead and build a machine.

Thanks for you help.

Man you took the fun outta that...

I polish my balls by hand. Both sets. Seem to give me good results.

get the missus to do mine, and some good local chinese women only $60 an hour, loads in local paper

Count me in the midst of the ballwashers by my own hand. :thumbup2:

No problema... not a big deal... I only clean 10 of 'em. The other 6 pretty much stay in the box 98% of the time.

If the Diamond home ballwasher would fit underneath my Pro Am I'd definitely have one by now. :frown:

Did it once and swore id never do it again. Too time consuming and tedious.

Bought me the diamond ball polisher. works like a charm.

A bottle of Aramith Ball Cleaner, a couple of rags, and a few minutes of your time is all you need to clean a set of balls.

I view any form of powered cleaning machine to be totally unnecessary for home use.

The polishers are just a convenience. I polish them regularly while watching something mindless on tv. If you want to polish them everyday then a ball machine is probably worthwhile, otherwise a few rags and a bottle of car polish or the arimith stuff made for it.

I used to but it got to be too much trouble. It became easier to make a polisher and use it. Mine is very simple. I cut the bottom out of a 2 gal bucket and left side about 4" tall. Lined the bottom with indoor/outdoor carpet and put self sticking felt from Joann Fabrics on the sides.

Put the balls in, spray with some Brillianize, get out the orbital polisher and I'm done in 5 minutes with balls that are better polished than I can do by hand in 30 minutes.

I feel the same way. Only takes 10 mins to do the job.

Earl did when he ran the ten pack for the Mil at CJ's in april of 1996, he cleaned every ball before he broke each rack.

Yes doing them by hand works but is time consuming to say the least.
We sell a ball cleaner at a reasonable price that can do the job in no time at all. Check it out at www.abctables.com you won't be sorry.
Thanks

I polish my balls by hand, but only when my girlfriend is out of town. It takes 15 minutes, and they come out nice & shiny.

Hey guys try forcefollows youtube website he has a video of how to make your own ball polisher with a bucket and a wax buffer and it costs around $35 just as good as an expensive commercial one too...Guaranteed. Might not look as pretty but sure gets the job done. Or just hit up mnorwood on here and I'm sure he would be more than happy to help.
