Dick, are those shaper cutters of the multi-wing type? Seems like the cuttung bits are quite short. and those tubes that they're attached to, would prolly be running under low speed say under 3,000rpm as opposed to a hi speed router at 30K rpm?

Whatever is the ideal conditions we feel is best for us or we are in, would be the best condition for cue storage IMO... our cues are used and should be exposed to the conditons we'll be using them. JMO

Another option I've tried is using a tapered core, same taper as the foream so that forearm wood thickness would be the same throughout its length...

Temperature could change from 0-100deg with humidity being almost constant... but then, temperature has different effects on material depending on the materials' tolerances...

AC dries up the air in the room thus affecting the MC of the wood... based on what you said, the wood is shrinking leaving the ferrule at it's original size. I've never experienced that from LBM. :)

Excellent work Mr. Madden! Are those flys recut one at a time? Thet appear to be mitered at the base of the flys... I like the mitered appearance of it instead of the overlapping flys.:)

I've used it as a forearm and hits solid... the pieces I got has mix of brown and black streaks. Not as figured as other rosewoods, but he hit more than compensates for the look.
