Thinking of going to US open this year and was curious....

I am thinking of going to the US open this year, not to play, strictly for knowledge and observattion. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio, so its quite a drive, and i just wanted to know from anyone who has been if it is worth it. Would you reccomend going to spectate? Thanks!

The base of the problem with the sport

I am personally disgusted by the publics image of possibly one of the greatest, most challenging sports in the world. If you can run two balls, the bangers call you a "hustler" which just makes me sick to my stomach. Whenever i hear someone say "pool shark" or "hustler" i immediatly ready myself...

    Best instructors in pool?

I have been interested in learning who the best teachers in pool were, as i am eventually going to want to take lessons. Who, in your peoples opinion, are say, the top 10 teachers in the buisness? (United states only please:p ) Appreciate the feedback!

    Predator P3

I agree with you there. Some people seem to eithier love or hate them, but i think they make some of the best quality cues in the buisness. I have probably their cheapest cue and put a sniper on it and i dont think i could ever let it go, it plays absolutley perfect for me. I am behind...

Did my simonis get me out of stroke?

Mully has some really good advice there. Just try not to let factors beyond your control destroy your game. I play with someone pretty frequently who says they just CANNOT play with bar table cueballs ever for any reason no matter how much they practice with them, so if they ever end up...

Did my simonis get me out of stroke?

Tell yourself that the equipment wont make a difference, and that you are quick to adapt. It will do wonders to your game if you can convince yourself that no matter what youre playing on youll make a quick adjustment.

I hear a lot about Ronnie being moody, crazy and acting wild at tournaments but...

...i really have heard or seen no examples of this. Im a huge fan of Ronnie o Sullivan and if anyone could clue me in on some of his antics i would love to hear. What kind of stuff has he pulled at tournaments?

Anyone else agree Souquet is possibly one of the top 5 most dangerous players ever?

I have, especially of late, been extremley impressed with Ralf Souquet. He played the best pool ive ever seen at the Derby, and the fact that he almost always places high in or wins tournaments is a testament to his consistency. I think he is one of the most consistent players who ever lived, i...

IPT schmidt vs Sigel proves what?

I dont think it really has to prove much, its just going to be an entertaining match. John is one of my favorite players so whenever i get a chance to watch im happy, no matter who he plays. It will be a good game.

Do you dress up for matches?

I only feel comfortable playing in nice clothes. Normally a Golf shirt PGA dry fit or a lacoste shirt does me just fine, with black dress pants and nice leather shoes. Youll never catch me in tshirts anywhere.
