    New Respect For Snooker Players.

I have personally played on three types of 12' tables: Brunswick, Black Crown, and Riley. Without question the Riley was the hardest to pocket balls on. The pockets are very tight. The BC was a joke. The Brunswick I learned to play on can't be like the ones you are talking about Fatboy because I...

    New Respect For Snooker Players.

Exactly! When I switch to snooker I struggle for a while getting used to how light the balls are and then when I go back to pool I feel I need to stroke so much longer and harder to get any action at all. To me that is one of, if not the biggest, challenges of trying to play well at both games...

    Ghost Plus

While that is a good adjustment to the game, might I suggest another way to practice safety play? Play "Killer". I have heard it by a number of names so no one fry me please!;) Simply make a ball and play a safety in the same shot. Give yourself 5 lives and see how long you last. Fun to gamble...

    New Respect For Snooker Players.

Out of curiousity why would 14.1 be harder on a snooker player than say 9 ball? I think it would be an easier game to learn. Given the nature of professional snooker and the way the pack gets picked apart as opposed to the smash and crash style of amateurs I personally see the art of snooker...

How to Play This? Can you run this rack?

I screwed up the cuetable but here goes. 1 ball bottom corner, inside english to play for the 2 in the long top corner. 2 ball top corner with middle to stun out for the 3 to the same pocket as the 1 ball. 3 in the bottom corner with inside english to play the 4 in the top left pocket. 4 in the...

    New Respect For Snooker Players.

I'm not going to come on here after the likes of John and co have spoken and try to say anything to contradict them. They are better players than I will ever be. That said, I feel that the initial point has somewhat been missed. I reread the initial post and to me the poster is impying that...

    Production Break Cues

My Gulyassy hits awesome. I can jump and pound breaks easily. I sold my Predator BK once I hit this cue. Check my signature to see if it fits your eye.

    Jim Wych

I couldn't care less about how you say anything regarding Toronto. Just be sure you don't screw up the Ottawa Senators...best damn team in hockey! If you want to get stupid about how to pronouce things there are tons of little things that other commentators (American) say that is off too. For...

    Jim Wych

Who cares? I met Jim at the Canadian 9 Ball Tour stop 3: Ottawa a few weeks back. (http://www.canadian9balltour.com/C9BT3-3Ottawa/) He has tons of great stories about the players and I was fortunate enough to hear some for a few hours over the course of the event. I like the terminology he...

    Nice Predator with inlays F/S!

Bump. My buddy has this cue. Looks good plays good. He just got a matching jump cue made by DB Cues too!

    upright vs. low stance

I am the type of player that plays low to the cue. I began to develop my game while playing snooker and I copied Stephen Hendry. A few local players shoot upright and are solid players, most notably Gerry "The Ghost" Watson. They are the older generation player and some developed upright strokes...

Johnny's F-Bomb at the Mosconi Cup

They now have hockey players mic'd up too. If fines were implemented I am sure the combined money from this weeks games could pay off the debt of the IPT. Profanity and sports go hand in hand in many situations and to force too much on what a player says takes away from the raw emotion we see...

Suggestions on seeing the table more clearly

Can you watch pool on television and predict what shot is going to be played? How about figuring the angles out and perhaps what spin to apply? It is easier to envision the table from distance. Step back. Take a broader look at the table and what it presents. Be your own commentator and talk...

    Jumping ... Where to start??

When I help people learn to jump I start with jumping a piece of chalk. Start about 1 1/2 feet away and place an OB near a pocket to create a str8 in shot. Work on hitting this shot with top/middle/draw. Move the chalk closer and then start adding more pieces of chalk. This is an easy drill that...

Recommend a good Break/jump cue please

I like Snorks Varney too. I personally play with a Gulyassy and I can kill the break with it. I used to use a Predator Bk with two shafts...one with a leather tip and one with a phenolic combo. I find I get more power and better balance with the Gulyassy. I also like that my old 314 shaft...

I think I did the right thing? What would you have done?

I had a blast. Finished 17-24th losing to Dany Hewitt on the bubble. Oh well, I played bad, he played...well, like Dany.

I think I did the right thing? What would you have done?

Recently I played in the 3rd stop for the Stan James tour. I enjoyed being surrounded by such immense talent and I took every opporunity I could between matches to talk to as many pros as I could. Over the last few years I have played in about 10 pro events including the Limestone City Open and...

If u belong to league, which one is it?

Here we work on a fixed hcp rather than a floating one. This eliminates any form of sandbagging. It is also used to create restrictions for team entries and individual entries to singles events.

If u belong to league, which one is it?

I don't know when or why they added the 10.5 and 11 category. It was to create even more distance between the lower and upper players I guess. At first there was only 5 11's now there are about 20. Essentially we would all be given a 10 hcp anywhere else.
