I had a mishap with my current breaker. Time to get a new one...

I never keep up on billiard paraphernalia so what out there is worth buying?

Only thing I can think of, besides needing to do its job as best as possible, is two shafts. One with phenolic and one without...

Somebody want to let me copy off your homework? :)

One word... VARNEY
Contact Varney Cues here. He'll set you up & you won't be sorry.

There was also a poll some time ago.

Here's another thread

Can you give me an idea how much it costs?

PM Varney Cues. Cost depends on what you want.

How about the famous "Stinger"????

IMO the Stinger is a good J/B too. I had one before I bought my Varney. However for me, I was uncomfortable with the shaft taper and the finish on the shaft. It just wasn't to my liking. There are many others who use them and love the Stinger cue.

I am sure you guys will find the right J/B cue for you.

Good luck,
Craig

There was a Stinger for sale in the other section for about $250. I don't think it was sold.

I use a 14 mm 20 oz Panther j/b with one-piece phenolic ferrule/tip combo I got off Ebay for $50. Listed on jjcue.com for $100.

I've been using my J&J for about 2 weeks and love the way it breaks. For 70$ i cant complain about the way it breaks.

I can't say I've ever used a Varney, but they seem to get great reviews, but I can say I absolutely would not part with my Diveney Jump/Break cue. I've been offered more $$$ for it than I paid for it, but it aint for sale, it just hits/jumps too good to part with.:D

The J&J is an excellent break cue for the money . . . I think RatCues distributes for them . . . maybe some others here on forum that do as well. Post in the WTB/For Sale forum that you're looking for one.

Another is the Gulyassy Sledgehammer . . . excellent break for around $200 used . . . $300+ new.

I'll add one more Varney vote. Great breaking cue. I had the X-Breaker v1, v2(Samsura), Gulyassy, and a Varney. X-Breaker v2 was best jumping cue... but I don't need to jump anymore with the spreads i get from my Varney :)

Get a petree if you can find one. or if you're on a smaller budget you could get a bunjee j/b they jump great and break good too

I like Snorks Varney too.

I personally play with a Gulyassy and I can kill the break with it.

I used to use a Predator Bk with two shafts...one with a leather tip and one with a phenolic combo. I find I get more power and better balance with the Gulyassy.

I also like that my old 314 shaft can fit on my Gulyassy for those tables you want to soft break or even when I break it down to jump I can use the bottom portion and fit my 314 on it for those silly tables with obstructions in the way.

I'm selling a Johnny Archer Scorpion Break Cue if you're interested. Perfect condition.
