    billiards

I seem to recall the late David Bond narrating The Fabulous Mr. Ponzi on the American Billiard Radio. This was a series of podcasts. It should be easy to find on their website Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There many good guys on here. Put him on the ignore list and move on. Unregistering is like treating a headache with a guillotine Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Top pool moments in my lifetime

I'm going to dilute this thread with some of the best snooker matches that stand out in my memory to this day. There have been many spectacular ones, both neck-and-necks and unbelievable comebacks, but I will mention the following 5 for now: 1) "The Black Ball Finish" - 1985 World Snooker...

    One Pocket - Wow

The book won’t teach you how to play shots. It’s more of a “what to” not “how to” book. If you have any questions on execution of a particular shot, you can get in touch with Tom - he’s a treasure trove of knowledge all things one pocket and more and always eager to help - or ask a question on...

    One Pocket - Wow

I’ve also seen Strawberry’s quote on their memorabilia which I thought was quite good: “One pocket is an epidemic and there ain’t no cure”. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hustling, Gambling, and Adventures on the Road in Atlanta Georgia

I think it was from Sands. A great match, I agree. Accu-stats should have it. Edit. Found it! - https://store.accu-stats.com/steve-mizerak-vs-cj-wiley-dvd-13th-s-r-o-june-1991/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Recommendations for a beginning one pocket book?

For a beginner, I’d also recommend Willie Jopling’s Ultimate One Pocket DVD in two volumes. It’s 4 hours of solid down to earth 1p instruction. Willie passed away 11 years ago so I’m not sure you can find this DVD easily. I still have my copy. Haven’t watched it in long time. Someone else gotta...

    Support AZ Billiards!

And for less than a cost of a cup of coffee per month, you also get access to the archive of The National Billiard News and very detailed tournament data going back to early 2000’s. Thank you for doing this Mike. I can’t even imagine how much time and effort it took to scan and upload all of...

    One for Jay Helfert...

To the best of my memory, Kimmer was practicing at a local driving range. A lawn mower caught a golf ball and spat it out into his eye. He has had multiple surgeries but was not able to regain full vision. The freakest accident I have ever heard of. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

For those playing pool right now

There is no point putting latex gloves on if you keep touching your face and if you don’t there is no point either. The major risk is grocery shopping as C19 is known to survive on plastic surfaces for 3 days! Are you going to give up shopping now? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I also put together a list all of the 1st-4th place finishers of the Sands Regent a little while ago. Here’s the thread: https://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=502593 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

How popular is the game of 8 Ball - Last Pocket, and who do you think is the Best?

Wow, that's the game I haven't heard in a while. Are you please able to post a link to that Facebook group you mentioned ?

Both sources I know of (i.e. The National Billiard News and Chalk Up!) list Eddie Taylor as a winner (see the excerpts below) so 15 titles it is. Still, no mean feat!

Wow, I didn't realise that. They look perfect size in tapatalk. I will shrink them and re-post Edit. Done but it was no mean feat! Phew! Just in case Mike Howerton is not reading this thread, I will drop him a note to see what can be done as, you are right, this should be a lot easier to do!

Jennie, I have the info on the 1st-4th place finishers for most years but, as luck would have it, Geese must have come in third in one of the other four years. Maybe someone on this forum could help fill in the gaps? I will also post this on onepocket.org: Keith Thompson is still with us and...
