    Billiards in a honduras prison

Yes, that's the view, but on a very good day. That was January 1, 2008. Spectacular! Most days are a bit less interesting than that one. Today is kinda gray. But even on days like today, I can still hear the sounds of the surf, late in the evening, between the sounds of the balls going...

Pool Player killed by falling tree

I guess it's all in how you look at it. Personally I think he got a good roll, or at least, it was nowhere near as bad as it could have been. He didn't get the Big C and go slooooow and nasty, and he didn't get old and have to attend the funerals of all his friends and then get the Big C and...

Pool Player killed by falling tree

Somebody should take that tree and make some "killer" cues out of it!

Pardon me for a brief change of subject, but does anyone know how can I get in contact with Ernesto Dominguez to recover and set up my GC IV?

    Billiards in a honduras prison

Some rules of the game: The balls are set up as shown, (see the video, click here) one ball on foot spot, and the rest in ascending order placed frozen at the diamonds, as shown. Each ball is worth its number in points (15 ball worth 15 points, 3 ball worth 3, etc). Sixty one points wins the...

    Billiards in a honduras prison

My instructor, Tony Sorto, is from Honduras, and he showed me the game. Here's a video which shows me running through the 9 ball. I have yet to clear the table, but I have seen Tony do it. Here's the video link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PI7Kapg8Gw Enjoy!

    Pool Ability Test

PAT 1 and PAT 2 spreadsheets I have been working with the Playing Ability Test (PAT) level 1 and 2 for a while and one of my major complaints is the amount of math (arithmetic) involved in keeping score. For that reason, I have programmed a couple of Excel spreadsheets to do all the work...

    Code Of Conduct

The U. S. Amateur championship, put on annually by the APA has a dress code which they enforce in the competition of the 128 finalists who are selected in the regional competitions. The regional events are not so picky about the dress code. Here's what they say about it in rule #8: There...

    Code Of Conduct

The Way of the Cue Joey... I think you are on to something with this Code of Conduct. In fact, it was something I have been intending to develop, sooner or later, but you have beat me to it. My concept was to develop a "Way of the Cue", somewhat similar to the Samurai "Way of the Sword" a...

How to develop an A player's stroke.

JoeyA... First of all, thank you for asking such a great question! I've been searching for several years to improve my stroke, and I appreciate the advice you question has generated. What I have learned so far that has made the most difference for me is to keep a light grip on the cue. I get...

Well, you put it out there, FastMikie.....

About the writing... IT'S ALL TRUE!! That may seem difficult to believe when you read some of the stories, but they all happened exactly the way I describe them. One of the reasons I write this stuff down is so that I don't have to repeat myself. You know how things tend to get embellished...

I do a lot of video, both practice and competition. Check this link: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=E5518CA39C6C8222 for a current playlist of videos from my practice sessions. I use a High Definition camera with a hard disk drive, set on a tripod, and edit the videos using a...

What would You rate Cubc and OMGWTFs Games?

Cubc (Chris) did have some table time before the match, but only about half an hour. But OMG was there the day before. If I had that much riding on a match, I would have been on that table a couple of DAYS before the match!

What would You rate Cubc and OMGWTFs Games?

I have to agree with Johnnyt. Giving up the wild 7 is a HUGE spot. I think CubC shot himself in the foot with that one, and OMG just knew she couldn't lose with such a big advantage. My feeling is that he folded when he saw her drop winners on the break.
