    Cancun

Went to Cancun, I got something. My wife got something even worse. We both vowed to never again go further south than Key West. You want a leather case? Go to SBE.

How to organize a billiard club at your school or college

With the typical reputation of pool being a social gathering of drunks, junkies, gamblers and misfits it is exceedingly unlikely to be approved at the local school board. Frat house entertainment perhaps.

    True Cue

It was 1966 or 67 when I bought my first cue. Yes, it was a hard coat anodized aluminum cue. Almost an electric blue. I seem to recall around $20. I don't remember the joint or pin size but it was very solid and not about to break, flex or wobble. It did indeed have a funky hollow sound. Thats...

    Go to playing cue.

The only "tool" I own with an emotional attachment is my fathers Remington model 37 Rangemaster. Cues can be replaced by a guy in a brown truck and uniform.

south west with a maple forearm and butt is a bad choice?

Don't own a SW, never will. To old to wait, to tight to spend, to many other interests. But if I did I wouldn't tell any of my "friends" what I had or what it's worth. Somehow the word gets out and all of a sudden, poof, the cue is gone. Maybe with dead family members in the vicinity...

Imagine the world's best/most powerful breaker on an endless pool table... how long does the cue ball travel?

That question answers all of the other questions and answers, with the possible inclusion of certain other green leafy substances.

Imagine the world's best/most powerful breaker on an endless pool table... how long does the cue ball travel?

2 X 1/2 way. There, I finally beat Bob Jewett to a mathematical answer.

    Mother Drills

DCP, Scott's been gone for a year and a half now. Is this an attempt to bring him down? Now? Yeah, the mother drills are still being used. This is just a resurrection of August 2020. The only differing views were yours.

    Pursuit of the Perfect Table

Twelve or so years ago I sold my furniture table and bought a GC IV that was in near mint condition. New 860 and installed by a very respected DC area mechanic. It was and still is my perfect table. Couple of years ago I had a Valley bar table put in next to it. It's there for friends to fool...

Best hitting cue you ever played with.

I can't believe I'm writing this. A dozen nice cues locked in a cabinet and I am seriously liking this Mcdermott HD-42. Yeah that's right, a Harley Davidson model. G Core shaft too. I'm playing the best ever. Being locked in the basement with a GC IV and Covid might have had something to do with...

    Which balls

Pink and brown balls are an abomination too. What's the matter with you? As a kid did someone take all the good crayons?

Looking for Entity in DC/Virginia/MD Area to Move Pool Table

If I was getting a table, free or not, John Burns is the man. He is on time, on price and knows what he's doing. Bought my GC IV from him twelve years ago. Great service.

    Pounding on the Top rail/Foul

Don't know why the ref should look like a nit. A lot of these posts sound like a good way to get your ass kicked. Seems like the ref just saved you.

    One Piece Cue

I have two el cheapo Chinese 19 Oz. house cues on the wall as loaners for guests that don't know better. You know, the guy that does a Ram Shot and hits the light too. Anyway one is marked McDermott and has a little Dufferin window with a ☘️ in it. Worst POS ever made with an ugly hollow ping...

Who let the dogs out? Some threads are gone.

You make a valid point. But when threads devolve into pure trash it's time to throw the garbage out. Long vacations help relax emotional or psychological misfits, of which there seem to be numerous examples here. Does AZ really need to be their outlet?

Who let the dogs out? Some threads are gone.

Holy smokes, I haven't read any of that Harriman thread since maybe 360 pages ago. So your post got me to read the last two pages. How that one guy is not banned for life is beyond me. Time to not only lock it but make it and some posters disappear.

Looking for the best all around 9ft table

To me it comes down to this. Geezers, like me, love Gold Crowns. Kids like Diamonds. Kids are those under oh, 50.

New cue , Need Help , What Wrap ???

Schon in their BW series used black linen with an epoxy (I think) coating, it felt wrapless. I mentioned this because I too like wrapless. Always an alternative since it's already cut for a wrap.

Clearing a nearer ball to pot a farther ball

It's the pool God's. There are two, good and evil. The evil one shoots some gravitational pull voo-doo into the almost blocking ball. You go and shoot a perfect CB line to the OB and the evil gravity sucks the CB into a collision. Trust me on this, I know, it happens all the time. The Nuns at...

Can cheap balls ruin your felt?

I don't know about nylon balls but it was my understanding that the cheap Chinese balls were some sort of polyester. Whatever they are it for sure laid down burn marks on my first furniture grade table. That had I suspect, cheap Chinese underwear grade cloth. Gave up on the cheap shit Chinese...
