    2 Nice McDermott's & Predator 314-2

Yeah, I thought it was strange. I found out because I was trying to buy the "silver" rings used in my M2-9A cue from McDermott to build a set of custom joint protectors to match. Doesn't make any sense to me...I mean, it sounds better, sure, but wouldn't that qualify as false advertsing...

'07 Alex Brick -Ivory loaded - Davis blank

yeah, I agree. I don't know why some people like wraps like that... but hey, that's their choice, right? It's a nice-looking cue...IMHO, a really nice dark brown leather wrap would be excellent. Maybe black...:o

    2 Nice McDermott's & Predator 314-2

I recently found out that McDermott's "European nickel silver" and "German silver" aren't silver at all; it's actually aluminum. Seriously. This was straight from McDermott themselves. I do not understand how they can advertise cues as having "European nickel silver" or "German silver", when...

Tell me about Paul Sumrall - SS Cues

Shouldn't this question/topic be in the Cue Review section? This is the Wanted/For Sale forum...and I don't see anything in this topic about a cue wanted or for sale.

need a cue for around 600

Was playing with a buddy last night, he has an original Bloodworth he's selling for a friend, great cue, balance is perfect, includes 2 original shafta, cue is around ~25 years old, said he'de go around $750 for it. I shot a couple balls, damn tempted myself. :embarrassed2:

need a cue for around 600

Why not get the McDermott COY M89A that's for sale? $800 Nuy It Now on eBay - 25% Microsoft Live Search Cash Back (search for my posts on how to get it, or just PM me) = $600 total. That's a heck of a deal on a great cue, and the McDermott Lifetime Warranty is worth it's weight in gold.

    FS:McDermott COTY M89A

Don't forget the Microsoft Live Search 25% Cash Back with Buy It Now, which would be the max of $200 on the BIN price of $800. SO someone could BIN, and end up paying "only" $600 for it. IMHO that's a pretty darn good deal. If I didn't already have my McDermott M2-9A, I'd probably be...

What is a "sugar mark"? (Sorry, just interested in what that term means.) :o

Manzino Masterpiece Ivory , Silver and Gold F/S

I'd have to agree, this is right up there with one of the best looking cues I've seen. Problem is, if I were to buy it, I'd actually want to PLAY with it...and, well, for a $12,000 cue...that's just not a good idea. :embarrassed2: (I'd change the wrap, too..the one there now is cool and all...

I want to buy a cue ASAP around $400

Post a pic of that last one...my first name starts with an "H", I might be interested in it myself. ;) Actually, I'm trying to get my son interested in playing, so it'd be for him if that ever happens...

    Sugartree caps from Alton Takata

Who made those joint protectors? I want a custom set of joint protectors, to match my McDermott M2-9A cue. I've contacted two people thus far, but I'm open to other people and haven't ordered them yet. And those look great!

    My claim to fame

I highly doubt he was "the first one". I was using one in Japan back in the early '90s when I was stationed there, before it was even introduced in the USA. Granted, I was using it to clean my car (it won't scratch even clear coat), but I remember seeing pool players over there use them to...

    Gilbert Ivory Starburst for sale

I really like the look of this cue...well, mostly. :o I mean, this cue is obviously not a cue to actually play with. I'd love to have the part from the middle to the joint. Cut it right above the current middle section, making the current middle section the butt sleeve, and add a wrap between...

Highest bidder on Tuesday get my old shooter.

Just like on eBay, I'm starting the bidding @ $1. That's nice maple...I prefer darker cues, but that's definitely a nice player.

    iTrader

Well, this person feels it's pointless in the first place. I was just reading about some bad transaction with a guy on here a few days ago. I looked him up, he has somethin like 41 positive "iTrader" points or whatever they're called, and something like 5 or 6 bad ones. Sounds pretty average...

    How'd you shoot the 5?

Never said I was a great player. :embarrassed2: But it does seem to me that shooting the 5 straight into the corner, playing the cue off to the right after contact, striking the rail, and ending up back on a straight shot into the corner for the 6 is what I would try to do. Now, as to whether...

    How'd you shoot the 5?

Personally, I went with third option, "Stroke the straight in 5 to get the 6 somewhere else", instead of the more popular stop shot or draw. :o Wouldn't it be easier to shoot the 5 into the corner, playing the CB off to the right into the rail, ending up with a corner pocket shot on the 6...
