This is truly a naive statement. You are exactly the type of person that would get cut up by a bunch of pros if your money was involved, and would be sitting there wondering what happened as they all went out and partied with your money while you sat at home broke.

This is why the only matches I bet on in pool, are the ones I am personally playing in. Because I don't believe what anyone says. If they say the match is being played for 10k a man, to me, that's a match for $500. Lol

Historically, 9ball WAS about who figured out the break. 1st guy to figure it out was off to the races. And then the other guy would figure it out, and then it would be about who put the most packages together, with anyone capable of running away with it at any moment. 10ball came around cause...

That's cool. Just personally, I'd rather see explosive dynamic pool when watching short rack rotation games. If I wanted to see a bunch of balls hanging in the jaws, or strategy, I'll just watch some 1pocket or 8ball. The tighter the pockets get, the slower and more boring the game, and to me...

I'd rather see more then less.

Part of me hears where you are coming from. You want someone to beat you on an honest table. But for matches like this, that are then sold to the public, it makes it ridiculously boring. Nothing sold to the public other than 1pocket should be on 4" pockets. 4 1/4" pockets are fine. But 4"...

All these cuemakers that take people's money, who then never deliver what they promise, who hold the customers money/product hostage when they complain, need to be cement blocked and dropped in the ocean. End of problem

Super tight pockets just means less blasting at the hole, more safety play, more hung up balls, more time overall deliberating and performing, that takes up more energy, and makes them more tired, which just compounds all of the above. Guaranteed, if this were played on 4.5" pockets, it would...

4" pockets are for 1pocket. They are stupid for rotation games.

It's Rob, aka, "FORTY" Plays out of Philly. Used to own the Philly pool hall called Ballbusters. Can be found playing on the Mezz Pro/Am regional Tour. As well as lots of bigger events i.e. Turning Stone, SBE, U.S. Open, etc etc. Solid player. Not a world beater, not a bum.

People seem to forget that Turning Stone started out as a Joss Tour Championship as a way to give back to JOSS tour players for supporting the tour. It wasn't until some Pros saw that local pros who played on the JOSS tour, in their minds, had the best of it, that they flocked to the event...
