For myself, I have never had anything done other than a simple tip repair locally. This time I sent my cue in for repair on a recommendation. I was told by the cuemaker that my cue was basicly done. I could send the money and the cue would be finished and shipped by the end of the week. Everything sounded legit so I had no reason to think otherwise. Should I have asked for the cuemaker to ship the repaired cue back before payment was sent? I really dont know how money is handled in the cue repair/buildI really don't get that .
Why do people pay in full ?
Don't do it .

community. Thank you
lol, I can understand. This was my first experience so I didnt know how serious the difference was between basically finished and finished. Apparently its 1 month. Only kidding.
Threads like this are important and unfortunate at the same time.
This is not the first such issue with Steve Klapp, you can do a search here on az and read all about it.
I have had similar issues with him myself and a close friend has also endured the same. He did make good in the end and I think that's true with most if not all cases so it may be more that he's a bad business man than a bad person. However, under no circumstance is it acceptable for someone to tell you your cue (or shafts or whatever) are shipping then to not do so.
It's a shame really because the work he has done for me has always been top-notch. But not high enough to excuse all the accompanying bs.

Heres a new one. I received the package on tuesday but I have been out of town until today. I was really excited to get home and see the cue finished. I cut the tape and opened the box only to find out that someone forgot to put a cue in it. You heard right, No cue. Just wanted to give an update to anyone folowing this debacle.

Top notch????
Really was the work done on a Wednesday???
His work is so far south of top notch..
I happened to order a new scale early in the week as well. I checked the weight compared to the shipping info weight. They are both the same. No cue was boxed with the shipment.
Curious what the weight of it is. Is the weight even heavy enough to accommodate for a cue?I happened to order a new scale early in the week as well. I checked the weight compared to the shipping info weight. They are both the same. No cue was boxed with the shipment.
don't throw away the box.
And maybe bring it with labels intact to your postmaster so he can document that the empty box weighs exactly what the ship label states. And ask about pursuing mail fraud charges.
