    Learning Carom Billiards

I am learning both games at the same time. I believe that some things you learn in one discipline compliments the other, while some things in one discipline are totally foreign to the other. If I practice billiards I find it easier to start with practicing Straight rail first and then play...

Staight Rail and the Nurse shot

Also learn gather shots, as it helps you get the speed down for certain patterns. I bought Xavier's book and in my opinion it is the book to have on the small modalities, even if it is in French.

    mezz 3c cue

Mezz Carom Cue I was also curious about the Mezz line of Carom cues. I contacted the American Distributor for Mezz cues. The Lady I talked with said for now they are not going to sell the carom cues but may in the future. I have seen Mezz A-yo carom cue being sold on Ebay in the past.

Looking for a decent carom cue

That particular model in the craigs list ad is one of Hanbat's lower cost cues. The Hanbat's sold at Kozoom.com are the high end cues. I am not saying the lower cost Hanbat cues are bad quality, I actually own and play with a low cost Hanbat and really like playing with it. If you go to the...

Another long tome billiard room shutsdown!

Brawley Billiards I went to the Brawley Billiard hall a few years ago. At the time I was living out in the California Desert and the town of Brawley was less then two hours away from me. I remember asking the lady behind the bar for Carom Billiard balls and she didn't even know what I was...

Playing Snooker with a Carom cue?

Golf is a game that uses the numbered snooker balls. I have seen it here in California and my Mexican friend said it is popular in the Northern Frontier of Mexico.

What are the differences between carom cues and pool cues?

For three cushion I play with a constant taper shaft with a 12.5mm tip. I think the meatier shaft helps me play three cushion. For straight rail I play with a 11mm tip with a Euro taper. The Straight Rail shaft is smaller and lighter then my 3-c shaft. The Straight Rail shaft is used for a...

    Carom cue for sale

I purchased a cue from Mexico a few months ago, NTS-B. Cue came with one shaft. It is supposed to be a Helmstetter carom cue, made in Brandenburg Germany. I honestly do not know the authenticity of this cue, but I will say I had an old Helmstetter shaft and it fit into the butt of this cue...
