    CNC troubles

cnc troubles Be careful when you un hook the power supply from the driver. The power supply probably has a capacitor that will give you a nice surprise, even if the box is unplugged. You probably already knew that, but better safe than shorted.

    CNC troubles

cnc troubles When you say you switched motors, did you physically switch motors or did you switch the z axis cables to another axis. What's inside the controller box. Is there a single driver board or are their indivdual drivers. Hopefully that is the case. First look to me is a driver...

    Finishing/Clearcoat J/P's and small items

J/p's One piece of advise I will throw out. Make your finish extra thick. Small objects are hard to sand and burn thru is common. A little extra margin for error will go a long way. Like any finish job, it's the prep that counts. No matter which of the finishes you use. The better the...

ChromaClear vs a thin plastic cup=

chroma clear I found that if it is recycle code "5" it usually won't melt. When I was shooting car coat I used this system and loved it. http://www.tcpglobal.com/spraygundepot/dekups.aspx?gclid=CN3cyoGWurECFcFeTAod3y8AuA Just throw away the liner, and run about an oz of thinner thru the gun...

    CNC Ø1/32" bit of choice.

cnc Thanks for the info. Just a few things to think about. There is a lot of over hang on the spindle. Looks like it's a long way from the mount to the tip of the bit. Lends it self to deflection. With 3 flutes, you have to move that baby pretty fast or as has been said, it will get hot...

    CNC Ø1/32" bit of choice.

cnc First off, what machine are you using. Secondly whose endmills are you using. Third, look at this link. Then check your code to see if you are really getting slowdown in the corners. (F speed should change) http://www.mmsonline.com/articles/steering-clear-of-corner-concerns

    wood blem question

wwod blem I believe the old woodworkers called these patches Dutchman. The classic furniture makers would never waste a good piece of wood for a flaw, they would fix it. Being from Penna. Dutch country, the old Dutchmen have been known to strangle a penny.

    Cortland Wrap

cortland wrap Just seems like a better quality linen. Doesn't fray and I've never found a nub or knot in it. Too me it lays much better. And the green specs end up in a better pattern.

    Cortland Wrap

Cortland Try Pechauer. Jerry had some a few years ago. Use to be about 50.00 for 150 ft. But that was a few years ago. Heard of one of the big metal spools going for 1000.00. Just remember. 9 threads, 8 white and one green. Not green dots on one of the white threads. So much better...

    wood blem question

woode blem Love is never having to say you're sorry. One disclosure is worth a thousand apologies. If you paid a lot of money for it, then you expect a high priced wood specimen. The wood supplier dumped it on him and now he's dumping it on you. Just depends whose going to eat it.

hand made cue Hat's off to him for the effort. But can you imagine what that would like like in one of Tikklers photos. Of course, there would be the token AZ flippers saying it was the greatest thing in the world, and at the same time offering it for sale. Orville and Wilbur built things by...
