    I finally got it!

I'm more of a player that just says my name, says hello, and a fist pump, then play, After the game maybe just "good game' and a fist pump again and that's it.

New Video on THROW SHOTS You Need to Know

    Projector training system

As the op, this is my dilemma right now. If it's anything like all the other training gadgets and books I have purchased, I probably wouldn't be using it as much as I thought I would before buying one. I have been using Billiards specific colored page reinforcers, that match the color of each...

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I've got a couple of taom chalks and I use them on my home table to try to keep it cleaner. If I didn't have my own table I probably would never spend the money on more expensive chalk then say Masters or the likes.

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

Well you are past the one myth that soft tips do not put more spin on the cue ball, but you have fallen to another myth that says expensive chalk spins better than say master chalk. Dr Dave did a spin test with master all the way up to Taom and found that all the chalk generally grabs the cue...

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

I would like a comparison of break/jump cues, and also of jump cues. Two different comparisons.

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

My break has been clocked at a bit over 20 mph, but sometimes I wonder if I have more success dialing it down a bit. I have a tendency to hit my spot on the rack more accurately with better spin that I intend on. It's amazing how well I can pot balls at 3/4 speed.

    How to practice?

Here is one of my practice exercises. I have been working on putting spin on the cue ball, both top/left and bottom/right from the same shot, and it has been moderately successful. In the photo it shows where the cue ball hits the cushion after potting the ball into the corner. It hits off the...

    How to practice?

A lot of good practice advice in this thread. One thing I have noticed for myself, and I am about a 480 Fargo, is playing with the right cue stick that fits you. Strangely enough, my best shooter is the first stick I ever purchased for myself. This stick is the Cuetec Avid era Sneaky Pete with...

Hitting cut shots with draw - why do I keep missing?

I have been involved in some sort of sport my entire life, baseball, volleyball basketball golfing, shooting pistol and rifle competitively and now pool. Each and every sport needs good hand-eye coordination and athleticism to compete well in. It's amazing how much pistol shooting and rifle...

    How to practice?

I agree mostly with your comment, but there are other things that do matter besides being consistent in hitting the cue ball. I'm not perfect in being consistent, but I practice all sorts of things and continue to work on my stroke.

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

To me this is the main reason for a breaking cue. I disagree with you here, as a player should get a break cue well before a jump cue. I have been learning to jump and can do it decently. Although, I don't recall too many situations where I need the jump cue in competition, more like only on...

Hitting cut shots with draw - why do I keep missing?

When I swing my elbow out it is generally because I don't trust my shot and want to help the object ball into the pocket. When we are over the ball, because we have made this shot so many times before, we should trust our judgment and just shoot it into the hole with confidence!

This is a beautiful looking and playing professional jump cue, used by finland's top players, as well as other countries. The fins are very good jumpers, and this particular cue meets their standards. I included a link to their website for more information, I've only had this a month and used it...

    How to practice?

"I've never had an actual table run in any format 8/9/10 ball, but have had quite a few 5-7 ball runs/outs...followed by missing the next couple of easy shots." Probably one of the worst strategies there is, cleaning off 5-6 balls (trash for your opponent) and handing table over to him. They...

Break cue.. the most over hyped cue in our bag?

To me breaking is rather easy, I hit at about 20 mph. Although, as was mentioned, for my fargo 485, sometimes a softer break would work better, trying to muddy it up a bit. Seems to me, a break cues main importance is taking the tip abuse to keep the player tip pretty. I can use any cue any...
