Does it seem like everyone is a Flipper / Reseller these days?

Pretty much everyone is trying to make a quick buck these days and it's really starting to hurt the cue market. Constantly on reddit there are threads about people picking up thrift store cues, asking what they are and values so they can flip. I really wish people would stop responding! The for...

Can anyone tell me what joint pins these are?

They appear to be acme threads, hold a ruler up to them to figure out thread pitch.

Torrefied Break Shaft.. Will it work?

My 2 cents....I used a keilwood break shaft for a few months and it held up fine, however I wouldn't recommend using curly for it. As Joey said, keep it over 13mm and use a stiff taper. If the person is breaking over 30mph, then I would recommend something else. But for your average player...

Looking for a cue maker that will make a plain jane or merry widow cue for 300$

How many years ago did Robinson offer you that deal? I'll assume 2019-ish when he first started offering cues.... Even then he was asking $350 for Cocobolo 😉

Looking for a cue maker that will make a plain jane or merry widow cue for 300$

That cuemaker is offering you one hell of a deal, you're foolish not to take that offer. You will not have a custom made for 300 unless it's by someone starting out and they sell you one of their test cues. Cuemaking is not a cheap hobby, but for some reason you believe your entitled to a...

Anyone bring their own chairs to the pool hall?

There are a handful of players in my league that bring their own chairs, and they're always in everyone's way. Can't stand it.

    Jump tip that draw

Any tip can draw the ball, that's more up to the user. I use a standard phenolic tip on mine and have no issues with drawing the cue. Clean balls and newer cloth make it simple.

I learned about the 3 wing cutter from Joey B on here. He's such a great wealth of knowledge!

    Finally finished my taper bar!

Nice build, what did you use for the controller? If you turn the router upright and use a 3 or 4 winged cutter, you'll get a smoother cut 😉. Also, you can buy a router clamp on Amazon for pretty cheap which is more rigid than the factory mount. I had an issue with chatter on bigger cuts and...

    Buddy Hall

I was talking to him about 3 or so years ago at SBE and he was having some health issues then, still played some great pool though! He is a model for the perfect stroke in my opinion, I've always tried to emulate his process.

    Predator break cue pads

I've repaired a handful of predator shafts recently where the red pad is popping off, I tell my customers up front that I will not replace the tip with the same red pad, and so far all have been happy. No more tips popping off either!
