Rubber on GC1 coming loose - Fix??

I have a GC1 with original Monarch Super Speed. The action on them is and has been good. However just the other day the glue gave way on about 1 1/4" mid-rail on one of the rails. Still plays ok, but I'm worried about it progressing. Can this be re-glued/fixed?

    Age vs Experience

As I'm watching a 2022 match between Filler and Immonen, with Filler leading by a decent margin late, I started contemplating the age vs experience factor. With athleticism favoring youth and experience favoring age, I still wonder why youth seems to dominate the leader board. Is it as simple as...

    My GC I Restoration

I purchased my GC in July from a guy who had it the last 25 years in his basement. It was in pretty good condition, but not great condition. Plus, I did not care for that vintage gold that was popular in the 60s. I could not decide between the Tangerine and Blue, so I asked my wife to be the tie...

Need GC I setup in Minneapolis

Looking for best mechanics in the Twin Cities area. Not sure if it needs cushions or not, they appear to be original, no loose spots. Tested before taking down and transporting and they seemed ok, but I'm just not sure what I should have expected. Got 6 rails before it petered out. Thanks.

    Anniversary, GC or Diamond?

Taking $$$ off the table as a consideration and only viewing this from the perspective of playability, maintenance, nostalgia, resale (not while I'm alive anyway), and anything else you can think of, which table would you choose?

    Anniversary -- transporting after breakdown

I may be picking up an Anniversary in the next week and driving a distance to get it. It's an 8 footer. I am going to have to rent a vehicle, full size van most likely. How should it all be transported? Each piece in a blanket? Is there anything I need to know from a supply or logistics...

    You have a ~14x18 room: 7, 8, or 8+ table?

Moving into new home soon and the 14x18 billiard room shrunk slightly to 13' 11" x 17' 10" after framing. I've been searching for a Gold Crown IV 8 Pro for playability and nostalgia, but am not finding anything in the Minneapolis area or even the Midwest states. I'll give it another month and if...

    How much space for backstroke?

Informal poll here. Perpendicular to the wall, how much space you need for your stroke when frozen to the side and end rails? Is it different because of the distance factor between the two?

Gandy? How does it compare to GC?

Gandy appears to be a commercial table and favored by at least a few in this GC and Diamond loving domain called AZBilliards. Where does Gandy fall short? Is it quality of workmanship and durability? Design? What does new cloth and rubber not make up for? I am partial to GC, but I"m getting to...
