A facing is a slice of rubber applied to both ends of each rail cushion. There are different types of facings however they are all a rubber material and generally black in color. And just an fyi, the correct terminology is cushions - not bumpers. 🙃

Were the rails recovered when setup in your home? Some of those pockets seem to look like there's no facing on the rails.

The profile is A48 or #48. Measure the back side of the cushion which should be 1 1/16" I think you can get a set of cushions at Classic Billiards or Muellers

This may help you - cushion measurements you can also measure the subrail where the cushion was attached.

I personally would not try to recut the featherstrip slots. When you get the new strips test fit them with a piece of cloth. Should be snug. As for glue for the cushions you can get a quart of 3M-10 Scotchgrip which works good and is readily available.

Some are rectangular and some have a rounded edge side. You can use either.

No Basswood featherstrips are typically 1/4" x 5/16" . Easy enough to get a set of 6 at many sources online.

You will probably have to get a complete cloth package (bed and rails). Wherever you get your cloth from make sure to SPECIFY that the rails should be cut for a carom table. You should get 3 rail pieces, 2 for the long sides and 1 you cut in half for the ends.

JMO but it looks to me like the pocket ears were cut too short.

If you use glue you have no worries with staples.

Mercury Ultra is not a worsted cloth. Since you didn't mention Simonis then 3030 is ok however you should look into ProForm which would be less expensive and not too difficult to install.
