    Price gouging because of SBE

It happens In the early 80's, I was at a Pro event with a couple of friends. They had a separate room for the tourney. Table time in the pool room area, was double what they normally charged, because they figured you were gambling. Their regular customers, still got charged the regular rate...

Name a player that evokes mythical status

Not trying to start anything, but curious Its a crazy sport, and no one is in High Gear, all the time. Those "legendary" players, all get that name, because they had a higher"high gear" than most players can imagine. Most really good players, can hit a pretty high gear from time to time, but...

*** Biggest bar table event ever was? ***

Jay The cups I have say "$200,000 Lite Beer World Series of Tavern Pool" from 83... The ones from 84 say $300,000....I don't know if that was the number they "hoped" for, or what was guaranteed

*** Biggest bar table event ever was? ***

I have 4 of those mugs, sitting in my living room. Omaha John would have won in 1982. I played in the 9 ball in 1983, and got a bye the first round. My opponent was either gonna be, Ernesto or a guy whose name I can't recall off the top of my head. I do recall, he was a former world straight...

Ban Magic Rack for Pro Events?

Like this post too. JC has the right idea. Until we get enough players to accept that not racking fairly, is doing harm in the long run, it will continue to get worse. Take the rack away from the players in the match. Don't like the magic rack, then you have to have someone who will rack the...

Ban Magic Rack for Pro Events?

I like this post Ray I gotta agree. If a rack gives the same rack every time, you can let anyone rack, and it don't have to be a ref. Both guys,, or girls, get the same rack, and if a guy breaks better than you, go practice. As long as everyone gets the balls racked random, and the same, let...

Ban Magic Rack for Pro Events?

Yes It does. Several Pro tours started, but have been unable to sustain a life.

OMGWTF Disses Mike Dechaine, in style

I like random racking With a guest racker using the magic rack, and Jennifer Baretta or some other female breaking for both. Might make things equal

OMGWTF Disses Mike Dechaine, in style

Maybe,,,, You just might be one of the best...... To Mike and OMGWTF, classy response's from you both. Mike, when I was younger and first started gambling in the bars, I rubbed nearly everyone the wrong way,,,, now, 35 years later, it's only about half,,,,lol.... Seriously, tho, it may change...

Ban Magic Rack for Pro Events?

Just so you know I'm not sure how old you are, or how long you have been around the Pro pool players. And I don't mean to generalize, because there are some really good people out there. But, Pro pool players have always been notorious for looking for an edge to get the money. Maybe part of...

I feel terrible for what I did.

Friend of mine seen that happen A friend of mine was running a tourney back in the early 80's. It was at a strip club, and he ran it twice a year. He always scheduled it on a dead weekend, between a Pro tourney in KY. and one in Oh. so he could get some Pro players to show up. Buddy Hall...

OMGWTF Disses Mike Dechaine, in style

I know Everyone don't look at life like I do, but to me, if I can bring a smile to other people, by someone writing sarcastic, comical stories about me, then so be it. In Mikes defense, I am sure if he reads this, he won't think it's funny. I don't know him personally, but from all the...

Ban Magic Rack for Pro Events?

First off: Letting someone use a regular rack, and adjusting the balls, is outdated. You need something they can't adjust gaps with, or someone neutral to rack the balls. Wanna stop pattern racking with the magic rack, then set a mandatory pattern for balls 1 thru 5, where no one likes them...

SVB v Mike Decheine TAR31 on you tube

Unless he has permission from JC, it should not be there. I can understand posting a few minutes of it, maybe a month or 2 down the road, just to show a few shots. But if JC don't post it, he needs to ask.

SVB v Mike Decheine TAR31 on you tube

I am pretty sure Tar has the rights to it. And also pretty sure JC would not want it posted, as it will cost him sales of the dvd's

The best pool playing brothers of all time?

Not sure how well they played, but heard a lot about the "Brock" brothers in the 70's

    BCA Green Fees at Nationals

Yea I know Evert. Played him quite a bit. He lives around Indy, which is about an hour from me. One of the biggest problems for VNEA, and the coins, were people from the BCA tourney having the tokens left over and using them in the tables. What are they gonna do with them, call up BCA and...

    BCA Green Fees at Nationals

Let me put this in about greens fees When you go to an event, and prepare for a match, do you show up right on time? And not even hit a few balls to warm up? I know a few people who do this, and yea, they are usually the ones going out early and complaining about the speed of the table or...

JA vs MD push out after the break match.

I think you got the wrong idea about this The mandatory push after the break, allows your opponent to choose if he wants to shoot the shot, or pass it back to you. Just like "having the option" to push out now, but it's mandatory. Not too many makeable shots will be pushed out, just like they...

JA vs MD push out after the break match.

Much as I try..... It's hard to keep up with rules of 8 ball, let alone all the different 9 ball and 10 ball rules. Call shot in 10 ball, may be ok for a Pro event, but overall, I don't care for it. Spectator wise,,, it's bad for the game. No one likes to have someone get lucky against them...
