    Cell Phone Etiquette

I don't know about you, but i enjoy pool in order to get AWAY from the world and play some stick. Now i don't mind if a random call comes in during a set with a friend but it kind of pisses me off when the phone becomes a go-to gadget every time back to the chair. More and more i see players not...

Top 10 Secrets of a Good Draw Shot

Hi Dave, very good Vid and will help a lot of people! Some advice i usually give to players that are not getting the most out of their draw stroke is to visualize the object ball just beyond where the ball actually is. If you do this you will immediately see what i mean. St.

    Skylar Woodward Mosconi Cup MVP

Glad i'm not the only one that thought Filler was being a little Prima donna. After his 5-0 win he was heard yelling at SVB "who's your Daddy now" along with the very strange facial expressions, not a good look at all. Sure you can celebrate with your team and rev up the crowd, even sparkle with...

Pool Hustlers, Tell us the Truth

Two of my favorite Alex comebacks, one was when a he was asked what his favorite game was, he said "the one with the most money on it" haha and one time on the subject of luck he said "you got to know HOW to get lucky". Love watching him play and his enthusiasm for the sport. St.

    Playing with your extension on.

I can't believe how many players are playing with "javelins" now. Earl, Shaw, SVB all have cues that are taller than they are! There must be something to it, perhaps stability? Accuracy? i'm curious as to what others think about longer than standard cues. I tried the various extenders out but am...

    Breaking questions

i agree with Jost, it may not be your break. There are so many variables in the tables, the cloth the rails the rack. Instead of looking only at what you are doing, try to find what works for that table at that time. Have at least 3 different locations and and off speed break for each location...

Do you think there will be pool tables in Heaven?

Of course there is a pool table in heaven. I heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who knew a guy that got as far as Saint Peter. AAAAAnd Saint Peter was backing this player, a Dude named Yahweh. So if you can beat him, You are in! Piece of cake i figure. St.

    Tips for improving draw

What works for me is visualizing the ghost ball 4 to 6 inches beyond the actual object ball. I don't know why this works but it really does. St.

CJ defeats Earl and a Special Thanks to this Forum

CJ Hi, a big thanks for the information you share. I especially enjoyed your TOI tips and videos. In the past i favoured the touch of outside approach and became very familiar with all the positional results as a concequence of that. But more often than i like i would hit a ball to "fat" and...

Fundamentals - Playing From The Rail

A few pointers i picked up about rail shots that helped me out. -Most people use too much follow through on these shots and it is a real spoiler. If you draw back a few inches then just follow through a few inches. -Use an open bridge to more accurately sight down your shaft through the center...

    Centre ball is my preference

Great post Slasher. While everyone is discussing the joy of center ball i thought i'd throw in a great drill for grooving it in. I just line the balls up between the side pockets and shoot down dead on stop shots to the corners. The point is not so much that you perform the stop shot, it is to...

    Deuel Stroke/Dr. Cue's Protege/Youtube

SCCues, WOW! That must have been awsome seeing that shot live. I even felt the electricity in the clip after he nailed that one rail delayed reaction draw shot, from distance! You could still here the buzz in the air long after that play. i must say i really enjoyed those clips. Corey seems to...

missing cut shots with alot of top spin.

Great advice Sponge! Yes, in the past i found that when i wanted a little extra of something I start stabbing the ball which in turn, jared more balls. It's the quality of the shot that matters so with thin cuts and spin shots think SMOOOOOOOOOTH. St.

Alcano @ my local pool room

Ronnie is THE MAN! I tryed to copy his devastating break ( the one where he demolished the field at the world chanpionships). He draws the cueball straight back to the side rail from where his bridge hand's at with enough speed to come back two rails and back out. The wing ball was automatic...

    I'm Pissed!

Me too! And everyone else for that matter, you are compairing the worst case scenario with the best, no disagreement there. But one can have fun and be entertaining without the hot-dog moves (they look incredibly stupid when missed) and the juvenile pranks like offering the handball then droping...

Great day with the Shuffet family at my home

Hey great pictures of Landon. I'd like to see his back hand back a few inches on the cue but i'm sure he's getting the best instruction around so all is well. :) Great to see the next generation of pool player haveing fun and success at the game. Only wish there was better access for juniors to...
