    Try inserting a pause command (G4 P?) into the G code. Even a .5 sec delay has help to save tools from breaking, allowing the tool to relax. Know tool breakage is not the problem here, but sometimes anything will help. Bob A

    StickFont Download Stickfont v1.1 free at http://www.ncplot.com/stickfont/stickfont.htm and also can download 14 additional fonts. I have used V1 and it works great. V2.+ is available for 15 days and then has to be registered. I downloaded V1.1 and it more features than V1.0 Worth a try!

    In a small space or room you might look at hanging it from the ceiling. Using a boat winch with cables and pullys you can raise and lower as needed. Have had no problem with movement while spraying.

    The joint collar and insert can be removed as one piece and installed in a new shaft making the lineup of shaft and butt as the orginal. Donald Bludworth told me how when I was at Bluds place in Texas. Have done quite a few with no problems.

    Ferrule tennon threads

    I turn the tenon down with the lathe then using the Unique tool to size the tenon. Using the Unique with the lathe running smoothing and heating the tenon, which makes the tenon harder. Then going to Chris's brass tenon threader, spining the lathe by hand, then back off, spin, back off, spin...

    keeping maple clean

    I use a shop-vac to pull the dust off the wood and also use a plumbers open weave sandpaper (actually not a paper) to sand in the problem areas, which lets the dust migrate up to the top of the cloth. Its only about 1-1/2 inches wide so you have to keep it moving or use light pressure.
