    Billy Webb Cues

Still looking great.... Bill does make a very nice hitting cue, and we sure miss him out here. I've hit with several and re tipped plenty over the years. So yes they do get played by decent players who know a good hitting cue when they pick one up. I hope Bill is doing good and still hitting...

Cognoscenti Cue w/ 3 shafts. Built in 1997. Solid hit Bacote w/ silver stitch rings

I have for a sale a cue built by Joe Gold of Cognoscenti Cues. This cue has been my personal playing cue for the last 9 years. Hate to sell it but as we all know it times are a little tougher. Divorced dad here. The cue is a Bacote cue with Joe's standard silver stitch rings in it. On this cue...

Value of a Cog cue, built in 1996?

Just asking some fellow pool folks here what they think the value is on a Joe Gold cue. Solid Bacote, with Joes standard silver stitch rings. No points. This cue hits so solid I can't even explain it. I may be putting it up as collateral on something in the very near future, or could possibly...

    Cognoscenti Experts

Dave, I've been meaning to give you a call. Sorry about being MIA. With all the hype on the Cog I just might have to pull mine out and mic it to throw some more wood on this fire. All I know is it's hits REAL good. I also have a BCM cue and it hits good too. Joe was a firm believer in making the...

    Dan Louie

Prayers for Danny & His family. Danny is a great person, and asset for our sport. Let alone a world champion on top of that. I've received some info on what was going on with Dan, but do to privacy for him & his family I'll hold off on saying anything. I'm glad Jeff was with him on this trip to...

    Seattle Area AZers Roll Call

Another Straggler......... This is Sean from Renton. If my schedule is clear I would love to participate in the az tourny. Keep us informed of the info, and date. Bellingham is kind of a fun trip up the highway. Maybe a few folks could join together and carpool if they wanted to save on gas.

    Bondo or Beeswax?

Both have uses...... I've done quite a few tables of various brands around town. Bondo works well on tables and it doesn't take alot either. I've never heard of slate breaking due to Bondo. One can slightly score the bondo with a razor knife before taking the slates apart. Never bend the slate...

Whitey Micheals, Greatest Player From The Northwest Anyone Have Any Stories About Him

Whitey & Dan Whitey was a great player, and a class act for the pool scene in the NW. The sport could use a few more like him today. We'll never forget him. I realize this thread was about Whitey, and not Dan to start. By no means am I hijacking it by saying the following. Dan Louie is a class...

Next test question for billiards technicians.

Facings I trim them using a New razor blade with just a little water added. Cuts them like butter. I've also used a very flexible high quality fillet knife and got great results. The water helps lubricate while cutting.

    Gold Crown Centennials Value

Lincoln City Table Unless they played on a Gold Crown IV for the finals in Lincoln City, OR this year I didn't see any Gold Crowns there. Most of the play I saw was on the Newer Brunswick table w/ the round column legs. I forget the name currently. Super wide top rails on them though, and they...

    Problems replacing felt w/ glue

Remove the old glue first. What we do when we recover a table that doesn't have backed slate is use a 4" wide scraper to remove the old glue first. You can find these in any hardware store. Ours have approx. an 18 to 20" handle on them, and use std 4" wide scraper blades. The blades generally...

    Johnahl

Unbelievable news....... Linda, Wow, I'm very sorry to hear this news Linda. You're right when you say that John would help anyone, and enjoyed talking to you at the tournaments. He would come into the store now and then to just shoot the breeze, or check out a few cues. He will be missed...

Anyone know where Stevie went who used to work with Joe Gold?

It's my understanding that Joey is building all his own cues now a days. He used to have a younger guy working his shop by the name of Stevie. I've heard he was going to build his own cues awhile back. Does anyone know if he did start building a few or what? I was just curious.
