    making a table play faster

I do not know if this is in the right section but I just want to know what you guys think. The table i bought plays extremely slow, like a dirty bar-box with skanky balls. I do not have a clue how to get it to play faster though, I have cleaned it with a wet rag numerous times, I have ironed...

    Jumping vs. Kicking.

When I am just practicing I work on mainly kicking because it is so much harder to do, and also there are times when the bar/pool hall won't let you jump or masse so IMO kicking is the most crucial. That being said jumping defiantly has is advantages but I guess I am a little biased because I'm...

When you really think about your stroke..

Okay thanks, I just did not understand because thee are a couple of pretty decent players that compete in a lot of tournament around where I live and they always preach the forearm being perpendicular to the ground, which is can only be essential if the cue is under the shoulder. They never...

When you really think about your stroke..

Alright, so I know that there a lott of people here that a lot more educated about this stuff than I am, so I hope you guys can help explain this. But why is it that a lot of really good players do not stroke the cue directly under their shoulder (stroking-side shoulder). Because once you you...

A question on pool etiquette !

Yeah its not the right thing to do, but in a month or so it won't really bother you too much anymore so I would let it go. Just put 20 on the side next time you play him and see who jumps up and down.

    Johnston City

I live probably an hour away from Johnston City, Illinois, and after the tournament got shut down around 1970 I was wondering if there is still a pool scene there today. Are there still a lot of places to play and a lot of players that live or come through there?

WTB:Solid playing cue; Show me what youve got.

I am wanting to buy a really solid playing cue, I want something under 400 or at least within that range. I don't want a production cue unless its a predator or possibly something like a schon. It would be nice to have at least two shafts but for the price I know that isnt always possible...

    My final stroke question,, hopefully.

I'm gunna get right to the point so I don't waste anyone's time. How do you fix you stroking arm not being perpendicular to the floor. My elbow sticks out like a chicken wing and I can't seem to find a way to consistently fix it. Any thoughts? I know I have asked a lot of questions about my...

    Can't get it straight

For the last three months I have absolutely sucked at pool. I was actually decent before this, but all of a sudden it all just went away. At this point I am 100% sure it is my stroke. No matter what or how many drills I do, I can't come through straight on any shot unless I shoot it really...

    Am I Missing Out?!?!?

Before I say this, I just want to say that I am not meaning to bash anyone or the ideas they have on this, I am just curious. There are a lot of people on here that talk about the pendulum stroke, and people who are firm believers in this style of stroke. My question is, if this is the...

    Sharking

If its really bad and its someone you have no respect for then do whatever they do. If they are talking when you shoot or doing something else to you, then do the exact same thing right back to em. But in most cases just let it go. Its not worth arguing over and not worth making a scene.

    Problem with my butt

It slips out of my hand on my forward stroke. I have always gripped the cue lightly so i don't "tense up" right before the shot but I can't hold it like i usually do anymore.

    Problem with my butt

Its not a bad cue, 5280 SP, but i don't really wanna drop any money into it. If there was something i could put on it like furniture polish or something that would just make it playable I would be happy. Any ideas?

    Problem with my butt

I was playing for maybe 3 hours today and the finish on my butt is starting to wear through. Its never been a big problem but since i grip the cue really lightly its starting to slip. By the time i was done playing it was terrible, every shot was slipping and the finish that used to be a shiny...
