Problem with my butt

I was playing for maybe 3 hours today and the finish on my butt is starting to wear through. Its never been a big problem but since i grip the cue really lightly its starting to slip. By the time i was done playing it was terrible, every shot was slipping and the finish that used to be a shiny black is now just a matte black. Its only maybe a 100 dollar cue so Im not worried about value, but what can i do to make it playable?

Finish Problem

You may want to try and pick up an inexpensive cue with a wrap, or quit playing so much and get a WII like my son.
Some cases will also dull the finish

Actually I think it's cool that you wore out a cue.
If you really like that particular cue it may still be worth it to go for a refinish.
Post something, someone here may be able to do it inexpensivly...less than 100-bucks.

Its not a bad cue, 5280 SP, but i don't really wanna drop any money into it. If there was something i could put on it like furniture polish or something that would just make it playable I would be happy. Any ideas?

It slips out of my hand on my forward stroke. I have always gripped the cue lightly so i don't "tense up" right before the shot but I can't hold it like i usually do anymore.

Wish I were closer. I can think of alot of ways to help, but without the cue and you here it would be hard to help. Hopefully there is someone in Illinois that can help a 17 year old get his cue back in shape for not alot of money.

You might go to the automotive store and pick up a cream polish. I use Scratch Doctor. Something like that or Macguires might bring some of the luster back a bit.

You Could put a condom on it

They have those rubber grips that you roll on up over the wrap area.
I think Mueller or Franks Center would have them.
