    Acceptable run out for lathe

You need a different indicator to check the tolerance. They make wheels that will screw on the tip of indicator that will allow you to use that indicator. Your better off buying the correct indicator for getting accurate measurements. Using the wrong indicator is better than using none. A 4 jaw...

I was called a "CHEATING JERK"

Explain to him just like what I read. I don't see a problem. They're out no money, since he wanted to try to get it lower than your posted amount, that person wanted something for free I suppose

Lepro tip that I had installed hits really soft and does not look good.

Would the type of material the ferrule is made of dictate the length of ferrule?

Lepro tip that I had installed hits really soft and does not look good.

why would you want a longer ferrule. OB and predator both are making there shafts with shorter ferrule. If they decide to jump off a bridge I won't follow.

Superglue vs epoxy for ferrule install?

I used super glue by gorilla, glued on non threaded capped ferrrule on my break cue. It's been on for about 6 months. No problems yet.

Superglue vs epoxy for ferrule install?

If the ferrule is seated properly to the shaft, the shaft should absorb all the pressure. Vibration could crack a hard setting glue.. OB Cues recommends Gorilla Glue. You can get 100 replies from 100 people and they could all be correct and all use a different glue.. Stay with a good name brand...

    New production cues vs old

Since a lot of cues made today are cored the balance should. Be better. To me a stick is like a pair of shoes, what feels good to you, I might not like the way they feel. Also, I wouldn't buy a shooting cue without shooting a few balls. I talked to a violin maker, he told me he could make 2...

    Using self aligning inserts

Is there a chart for drilling different size holes for the different size pins? If not, could someone tell me the hole diameter for the most common pin sizes using self aligning inserts. Being a Tool and Die maker for over 40 years isn't much help when dealing with wood. For indicating used...

Lepro tip that I had installed hits really soft and does not look good.

put the shaft back in the lathe and use ultra fine wet/dry sand paper. It's only cosmetic but it still looks like carp. I have problems with the soft LePros absorbing my glue. Went with Gorilla Clear glue with all LePros. I would go with a much better made tip. You can go medium LePro with a...

    Deadly Combo For OB Shafts

There are no tips I know of for shooting with a low deflection shaft. You just get use to getting more of everything with the shafts. I don't care for the 11.75 shafts. For me I have trouble shooting very easy on long shots and the cue ball rolling off. Smaller tables not so bad but going to a 9...

    Purchasing a Production Custom Cue

I use a Schon, STI-15, it has points and a little inlay. I like the feel (hit) with the aluminum weight bolt. You really need to shoot with several different cue makers sticks, what feels good to one player don't in anyway mean you will like the same cue. The feel of the cue is more important...

    ferrule replacement gone wrong

I agre. There is no way any repairman will turn the tip smaller than the ferrule. The only way I can see it happening is,!. had the automatic feed on, 2 Got a phone call, 3 The tool rest had to come loose. Ive forgot to tighten my tailstock and the shaft got destroyed. That was building a new...

    Degrees Of Deflection

OB web site says, cue ball deflects off the shaft, the weight of the cue ball causes the deflection. The farther the tip is off center the more the ball deflects.
