    Cost of Tip Replacement

I have a cnc machine shop and am an authorized Kamui tip installer.. Last time I bought a group of tips I spent over 700$ At this point I honestly only really put tips on my personal cues and for my friends when the lathe is open, it's not worth the headache of putting on tips for strangers...

Arguing on another forum, is this a foul in BCA, APA, and VNEA?

In one pocket this is bad form... Opens up a can of worms. Freezing the cue to the pocket facing with a push stroke in some tournaments is ball in hand in the kitchen and a foul. Dudley

Arguing on another forum, is this a foul in BCA, APA, and VNEA?

100% foul... It is the constant pressure the allows the ball to move sideways.. That is not a stroke, It is wedging the balls against the rail. Dudley

    The Thinking On Bigfoot Slop

Creedo, I'm not making this point to win the argument just to add a thought. -->It isn't a bad feeling to benefit from a little luck sometimes too. It goes both ways. Dudley

    The Thinking On Bigfoot Slop

As a one pocket player who looks for these rare shots I have to disagree. But you do make some good points. I would still play a tournament with call shot rules But I prefer the slop rules that are commonly used in 9ball. Dudley

    The Thinking On Bigfoot Slop

ChicagoRJ, I mentioned the reasons I like non-call shot rules in the rest of my post. Sometimes the rolls go your way other times they don't. It all equals out in the end as it's random. This is 100% my perspective, I don't have to convince you or others that my perspective is right.. This...

    The Thinking On Bigfoot Slop

Agreed PT109, Slop is one of those things that bothers some and is part of the game for others.. It's all about your perspective. Regardless of your level you will get good rolls and bad. And this won't change with called pocket. There is a level of random when the balls are rolling around...

    The Thinking On Bigfoot Slop

I prefer slop rules in all rotation games. Mostly because of the 2 way shots that become unavailable with the call shot rules. Eliminating slop doesn't eliminate luck.. It just changes the rules. Dudley

Do you try to "pop" the CB on the break?

KMR, It's funny how what you write means something different to someone else when they read it.. Being clear is very difficult when putting your thoughts on a forum. On a good racking table--> There is no need to hit the balls hard. However when they aren't sticking together this all...

Do you try to "pop" the CB on the break?

Thanks for the reply KMR, I tried to write my post so my theory wasn't overstated. I believe that it is a good thing to put as much energy into the rack that you can with control. The more distance the balls roll the more time/distance they have to find a pocket. This is just one aspect of...

Do you try to "pop" the CB on the break?

More thoughts on the subject... In my limited, not exactly scientific testing with the breakspeed app I discovered that my fastest speeds clocked were always achieved when the cue ball barely left the table after contact with the rack. My theory is that when you hit the ball while jacked up...

Do you try to "pop" the CB on the break?

Nope... I strive to hit the rack as level as possible. It doesn't make as much noise as a pop break but the balls roll further in my experience. If you hit the cue ball hard it is way more difficult to eliminate the pop than to get the cue ball to fly up in the air. Making a ball on the...

Don't keep a nice cue in the car... Ever. Hot and cold causes things to come apart. Just a thought My cue walks in the front door with me every night that it goes out. :) Dudley

My View on Sandbaggin and Leauge Play Has Changed

Anytime there are handicaps involved there are sandbaggers... The reality is that if there is an edge to be had some will manipulate it. The ones who complain aren't the shady ones in my experience. -->You'll never catch the scary ones with any certainty. I personally gave up on leagues...

    Cue Tip Protector

I have never wiped the chalk off of the tip as I don't care how much is down in the bottom of the case.. I'll be brushing more chalk on the tip the second I take it out of the case anyway. Seems like a futile endeavor to me, Dudley

    One pocket moves

It's hard to answer a question like this because there are no hard rules or moves that would be easy to describe in a sentence or paragraph. It's a deep game with subtleties that are hard understand until you play the game a bunch. Play cheap or free with better players, watch you tube videos...

    your opinion on gambling ethics

No harm no foul... If you don't like his action don't bet with him next time. There was no rule broken imo. Lack of gamble.. maybe Would you have been happy if he quit after winning the next set? Not likely. Quitting ahead is more of a issue than quitting even. He could have told you it...
