    What is pool to you?

senior pool I envy al these people who started in their teens or before. I'm 70 & only started recently. At my age, I can no longer lift weights without some restrictions lest I risk injury. Dumbell presses have replaced barbell bench presses, leg presses replaced squats, trapbar deadlifts...

    Production Cues

Jacoby all the way I also have a 21 oz Hustler & a 24 oz Heavy Hitter break cue I will be long dead before my skill matches their potential. The Heavy Hitter readily explodes the rack with minimal effort thereby increasing accuracy.

    Schmidt 9 foot table

antique Brunswick Madison I bought it for $700 including set up & new cloth. It needs some refinishing on the sides but this is not relevant to its function. I have an appraisal of $4700 for insurance purposes.

    layering chalk

Using Kamui for practice as well as competition could get expensive. If we use alternative chalk for practice, should it be removed before applying Kamui for competition? If so, what is the best way to remove chalk? Or could the chalks merely be layered?

How do you think pool can be saved across the USA?

reducing overhead I play in a real dump with a wretched parking lot tucked away in a rural area. I'm sure the cost of the facility is minimal, however the 9' tables are well maintained & the place is always crowded with young serious players. They serve a large variety of beers & soft drinks...

What Break Cue to buy now?

Jacoby Heavy Hitter At the last Derby City Classic, I spent a day trying various break cues & settled upon the Jacoby Heavy Hitter 24 oz cue. It vastly decreased my percentage of coming up dry, however there is no substitute for technique so I suspect that I will spend the rest of my life...

Do sneaky petes really fool anybody?

my Jacoby Hustler (sneaky pete) At closing time, the staff at the bar where I play always try to put my cue "back in the rack with the other house cues." Nobody requests to "try it," which would be especially annoying if they were drunk & might damage it.

    Predator bk2 tip

    Predator BK tip

I worked out with a Predator BK at Derby City today. I was extremely surprised when I was informed that the tip is phenolic, because it was so much easier to chalk than other phenolics I have encountered. It was also much easier to achieve control than with other phenolics I have encountered...

    "dream cue" & placebo effect

I have noticed that many people appear to have accumulated vast collections in the pursuit of their "dream cue." Cues seem to be like new lovers with most all being exciting during initial period of the affair. I wonder if anyone has conducted a test in which an array of cues were made to be...
