Us mail is the worst! 😖

Bob, I agree 100% but I include management as part of the work force also. Every situation always starts from the top good or bad IMO. The atmosphere is toxic at the PO. I speak with my driver every chance I can and give him a tip for going above and beyond with my packages. His...

Us mail is the worst! 😖

Can not tell you how many times I've ordered stuff that was sent USPS PRIORITY that made it to the sorting facility in Glendale AZ, approx 50 miles from my house, and I was thinking that I should receive it the following day........NOPE! From Glendale it goes to Avondale which is also on the...

    Cue scale recommendation

Been using half an egg carton to hold the cue from rolling off. Just tare it out before weighing. 28.35 grams for an ounce looks good from my shop. Been using a triple beam forever but it has other uses also.

    Pressed Triangles/Milk-Dud tips.

A 30$ minimum for 5 tips is a pretty smoking deal. If you look around you may be able to help out on better shipping prices and still include tracking. Keep up the good work and post away in this forum. A lot of builders/repair individuals don't look anywhere else for items that would help...

    WHAT PIN IS THIS ?

If that is the butt looks like it may need a little help. (cracked) The pin looks to be an 18 tpi. Measure the length and count the threads. If it's not a full inch sticking out, just measure a half inch and times 2.

    Butt with slight warp

Certainly a nice enough cue to have repaired if it bothers you. If it were me....first path I would take would be go to the original builder. Jon would know all the internal construction techniques and may have a solution. IF it needed to be cut at the A joint he would have all the specs on the...

Can someone explain the price gouging business model?

Pred does a phenomenal marketing campaign for their products. As the saying goes... There's a seat for every butt! If you don't like the show, move along, Someone will certainly fill it.

    Butt with slight warp

Only if it starts out fat as a rolling pin or you like playing with a pencil thin cue! 😆

    Butt with slight warp

OP appears to indicate it is a wrap-less cue.

    Butt with slight warp

    1. define slight warp? 2. how old is the cue? 3. what is the value of the cue? (this is a 2 part question) what did you pay for it? / What is it worth to you personally? 4. Even if it is "oversize" and then re-tapered to make it straight and round again chances are you could end up in the...

Hi Mike... Hope you're doing well and back at it. ;)

Sanding left a bunch of white sawdust embedded in cue. What do I do? What happened?

I've seen it happen in PH, BRW, ebony and few other woods on occasion. You can sand till the piece is 1/4" in diameter and it may still show up. I'm not 100% sure myself why it's there but I have been told by some older experts that it has to do with the type of mineralization in the soil that...

    Coring on an Engine Lathe

Is the box enclosed around the bit? Hard to tell with no end or bottom photo picture.

    Coring on an Engine Lathe

In 30 plus years I've never built a cue or cored a piece of wood with a lathe that had an outboard chuck on it. Cut all of the dowels to the same diameter and slip a delrin cap over the back side of the long pieces of wood that will slide in not to loose, not to tight and core away. Short...

    Need some help

Give it up. You're barking up the wrong tree. Just because you have no desire (or possibly the ability) to not own one of my cues does not make you a bad person. It's individuals like you that have no understanding of the market and try to belittle someone who is doing well in the custom market...

    Need some help

Zero... Running a lathe and piddling around on one has Zero to do with building and/or constructing a quality playing instrument to be used in any billiard games. Give it up Bruce You're a minus zero when it comes to this craft. Quit acting like you know something that you know zero about.

Trying to figure out what kinda cues these are

I'm thinking they are all overseas cues. But that doesn't mean they are no good. I believe the Helmstetter was probably made by a company in Japan. Not sure where the others were made but they show signs of overseas cues also. Price wise... not junk but not over the top either.
