    CNC Point issue??

Your part does not need match the pocket. By cutting with the z you are doing the same.thing as using a tailstock off set. You are just using the z axis to accomplish you flat bottom to your taper. I was also doing this in bobcat 21

Cue Companion Lathe by Unique Products.. Nice repair or starter lathe.

I believe it's normal for that lathe. It has delrin jaws. I also remember them using masking tape as a type of collet. Once again hoping for billiardbum to chime in.

Cue Companion Lathe by Unique Products.. Nice repair or starter lathe.

If I remember you need the small chuck to do tips and ferrules. The large chuck won't go small enough.

    I need some ping...

Not trying to be snarky. But if it were me and I knew what I liked I would not try to imitate and find something close that Im not going to be satisfied with as you have done. You obviously know what you like and how you want it to feel and sound. So instead of buying cues and hoping for the...

    Tapering. CNC vs lathe...

When I used mine I created one program and from that I created 3 other programs. I had a program to take shafts to a .700 taper, a .05 that took 2 passes at .01 and a .005., per side , .02 that took 2 passes at .005 per side and a .01 that took 1 pass at .005 per side. All I had to do was...

    Tapering. CNC vs lathe...

Why do you think you need 4 axis machine to use as a tapering machine? All you need is x,y and rotation and it can be controlled with a simple motor ot a stepper. And anyone with a brain can build one for around a couple grand or not much more.

    Cross slide question/Taig/Hightower Mid size

Yep that's the same thing. Part 100-17. Now it apears that you have the old style cross slide. So some of the parts on that list won't be the same as yours

    Cross slide question/Taig/Hightower Mid size

Look on the back side underneath of your cross slide while using Chis's instructions. Is the lead screw spinning? If so the brass lead nut is stripped. If not the screw in front of the handle or the dial it's self is either loose or damaged.

    Cross slide question/Taig/Hightower Mid size

Not to sound harsh. But if you can't figure out a very simple problem with your lathe how do you work on cues? Anyways pull your cross slide back and threaded into the lead screw. Then move your tool post forward. Problem solved.

Make the pin like a viking pin. Just turn down the front of the pin like an alignment barrel and use the last two or three threads.

Unique Cuemaker vs Deluxe cue smith?

Now my question to you is this. Did you just slap the test cylinder in and check it? How long did it take to achieve .0004 tir. Did you use different diameter cylinders and check consistently of tir? Ps. I would be thanking Taig Tools for there great product.
