Gold Crown I - Cover Slate Bolt Holes?

Hello, I have owned a Gold Crown I for nearly 20 years. In the past, when I covered my own table, I always filled the bolt holes. It has been disassembled for the last 5+ year and I have an outfit finally coming out to cover it this week. Guy says there is no need to cover the bolt holes. I ask...

Billiard Retail Supplies Website For Sale

A lot of people asked about the 4 vendors that I use and if they are transferrable. The answer is yes, as long as you have proof of ownership of the website. They may require other information about yourself, like a state resale tax ID.

When aiming, do you ever get cross-eyed?

I've never been a "chin on the cue" player, always about 4" or so above it. I don't think my belly would allow me to get down on the cue that low, but I'm not going to rule that out. I also don't think it's too long on the shot. I'll say one thing, when it does happen, it happens on almost every...

When aiming, do you ever get cross-eyed?

This has happened to me before and then again today while shooting at home. I get in my stance and get down on my shot, while in my pre-shot routine the tip of the stick/cueball get a little blurry from getting cross-eyed? Could this be caused by declining eyesight? I'm 41 and never needed...

    Question about 9-ball (optional) rules

A buddy and I were playing 9-ball the other night. Prior to the game starting we declared the rule that you must call the 9-ball before pocketing. We play a few games and everything is fine. My buddy breaks the balls and pockets the 9-ball in the corner pocket. I pull it out and place it on the...

    Questions about the Break RAK

I have a couple questions about the Break RAK. First off, I have read many, many reviews about the unit and it appears that it's a well engineered product. My question is this. Because the product is replicates a 9-ball rack, will you have a problem or a need to adjust your break when actually...

    Parts for Valley/Dynamo pool table?

More specifically I am looking or wonder if they sell the laminate for the sides of a Valley bar box? I recently picked one up for $400 and one side should have the laminate replaced. Won't be hard to match because it's black in color. Thanks, Matt

Breaking down a Valley bar table???

This is good news. I was thinking it was something like that. So I would leave the rails, pocket corners and blinds all attatched? I am guessing it's basically 4 pieces....legs, slate, underneath construction and then the rails, pocket corners and blinds (all as one piece)? Thanks Matt

Breaking down a Valley bar table???

I'm in the market for a 7ft Valley bar table. It's going to go in the basement. The basement stairway has a few steps, comes to a landing and turns 90 degrees and has a few more steps. I may not need to break the table down, other than removing the legs. But, I was curious how difficult it is to...

Do you have a Pool Table in your home?

Check these buckets out....long & fast rail shots are all but impossible to make because of the inside angles of the pockets.

Do you have a Pool Table in your home?

Here's a pic of my Gold Crown I. This pic was taken at my old house. As soon as I finish the basement at my new house, it will be moved there.

    Decreasing shelf depth????

I don't think that is the problem. I understand the faster that the ball is traveling down the rail, the less margin of error that you have. I don't remember my table having these issues before I had new cushions installed a couple years ago. I couldn't tell you what the pocket width was back...

    Decreasing shelf depth????

Yeah....that sound ideal. Much better than a 5.25" pocket and a 2 1/8" shelf!!!! When I was talking to Bob Owen, he did mention that I might be able to file the drop off a little. And like CamposCues said, by tightening the pockets will help alone...at least I am in agreement with.
