Sorry about the bad lighting on Barney. Couldn't be helped.

Stroke, Stance, and Bridge - A beginners' video guide

Your content was good, IMHO, except for chalking. It seems you kinda sluffed it off as just part of your warm-up. I think it needs a little more scrutiny than that. Also In My Humble Opinion, your delivery needs work. I believe pool players are supposed to be relaxed and smooth. Your delivery...

Stroke, Stance, and Bridge - A beginners' video guide

What is the class you're taking? I watched your video and don't want to mention stuff that's unrelated.

Would Like Some Ideas On Playing Better Shape

I was going to ask this after Elroy's original post but didn't want to aid in the hijacking  Apparently the hijacking happened anyway, so I guess I can ask ... When Elroy says, "I find aiming to be completely effortless if the cut is 30 degrees or less" and "I've missed zillions of...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

I have no idea. How can you tell? Several ques came with my table, plus I have my own. All the tips look and feel the same to me. hmmm...interesting. My room is often quite humid and I'm playing on a slooooow table. What speed of stroke and level of elevation would you suggest for those...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

It's going to be a looong time before I get efficient at 12" since I can't even get consistent draw on 4". I tried your 'finger & thumb' grip 103 times right after you posted this (sorry for the delayed response) and got the same results I get with my regular grip: inconsistency. Thanks, but...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

I'm relatively new to Dayton, having moved here about a year ago. So I never heard of Airway Billiards 'til now. Thanks for the tip! I've Googled them and I do know where Needmore is ;) As for lessons, I've since met up with Scott Lee and he helped a great deal! I think I'm good for a looong...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Thanks a lot for the good tips, not to mention the time & trouble you took to respond. I've learned much since I made the original post from so many helpful people here. And I'm getting much better as a result. As for my stroke, it evolved on its own in my youth. I never watched anyone or was...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Thanks much Scott, that cleared up much of the confusion. However, it's a moot point now (and will be for a while), as I'm giving up on draw and focusing on that new stroke you taught me. I'm doing the drills religiously and have got them down to where I can execute each one flawlessly seven...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Thanks. So many people recommended Scott that I checked him out in the 'Instructor Reviews' section. There were many glowing reviews and no bad ones, so we scheduled a lesson. The stellar reviews are well deserved; I got way more than my money's worth! (Actually, my girlfriend's money )

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

This is a test. I'm replying to my own post to see how (or if) it shows up. Okay, that didn't work.

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Do they have a website? I googled all forms of the keyword "pool instructors in Dayton" and got no hits. Are they in the phone book? Yes, I can draw the ball. Just not consistently. I'm working on a new method though. Thanks much for the tips! Harvey

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

????? With a short bridge and follow through? It happens quite often. Either that or I jump the ball. At least that's what I think is happening :/

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Thanks! I've recently learned a new way of stroking that addresses pretty much all of what you mention. Still getting inconsistent results though. And at a few feet away, anything goes :/

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Thank you, Sir! There are some things in this video that confuse me though. 1) In his drawing of the "theoretical miscue limit" (about 2:30 into the vid), the six o'clock position of the circle appears way higher than where I've been told countless times to hit the QB. And the 'good chalker'...

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Thanks! I'm getting quite good at jump shots with this ;) Still not consistent though. I sometimes get stop shots and draw.

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

The rope helps me keep the cue straight ;) Hey, maybe I oughta try that. Seriously, you're right: the comments are great and helped me a lot. I'm doing much better now, my sanity is slowly returning. I think.

Can't do a draw shot to save my life

Thank you doctor! I've long suspected I might not be hitting as low as I thought. Often I try to compensate and end up miscuing and giving the CB a ride on the stick. But I'm gettin' better and occasionally do get some draw. Thanks again! Harvey

    For those who have published

What type of graphics do you want, bitmap (photos) or vector (drawings)? Is your page layout going to be consistent throughout with the graphics being the exact same size and aspect ratio? Will your graphics all be at the same perspective, i.e., top-down, 45 degree angle, etc? Will all your...

How to not choke on the Money Ball?

Mr Lutz, Thanks for responding to my post. I answered you but it didn't show up. Still haven't figured out the how's and why's of this forum :/ Maybe this "Quck Reply" will work. Thanks again, Harvey
