    What other hobbies??

Picked up a guitar three years ago and even though I stink at it I'm hooked. Wish I hadn't wasted all that time in school playing football, baseball and other sports and had concentrated on learning to play the six string. I'm also into golf and of course firearms.

    Challenge of Champions dump

You make some great points. And I have to admit you guys could spot a dump better than I simply because you've been around and know what to look for. I guess I'm a bit naive but I don't like thinking that Buddy Hall would lay down. I guess money does change everytihing.

    Challenge of Champions dump

It happens in all sports. In 1989 Scot Hoch missed a two-foot put in a playoff that would have won the Masters and changed his life. Hey...it happens in pool too. Call it what you like; choke, buck fever, spit the bit, can't win the big one...and many more.

Question about College Billiards in San Diego circa 1985...

Thanks for the info but it turns out I was a bit confused. Turns out the place I used to play was The Billiard Tavern. And the gentleman's name I was trying to remember was Dick Megiveron. When I was stationed at Camp Pendleton back in the '80s I used to drive down for the regular 9 ball...

Question about College Billiards in San Diego circa 1985...

Was wondering if anyone remembers who owned the place back in 1985? I used to play there years ago and was trying remember the guy's name. Nothing important...just one of those things that's been bugging me. Thanks

God is not going to help you win your match!

If it serves God's will to allow you to win then you may win. However, if God has decided you're winning does nothing to further the will of God, you'll probably lose. Or if winning does more to hurt the spreading of His message, he may arrange for you to lose. Either way, make no mistake, God...

???? What Happened To Carolina Custom Cues ????

Non-communication makes me nervous: it's not a good sign. There has to be someone on this board who lives near there and could ride by to see if the place is boarded up. Good luck.

    Ann Gore Case

That looks exactly like the Manx case I had back in the '80's. I bought it new via mail order. I kept it for about 6 years and got stupid and sold it. I had originally intended to buy a Fellini but in '84 (when I bought the Manx) Fellini had either ceased production or was on the way out...

FS: McDermott D-11 Pool Cue (TN)

Original McDermott D-11 Pool Cue. The McDermot D Series was launched in 1984 and that's when I purchased this cue. Ordered it from McDermott via Arcade Billiards (now gone) in Nashville from a gentleman that owned the place named Herbert. I am the original and only owner. It has been played...

    Top Players

Lots of practice helps but I sincerely believe that the best are born with a talent for the game that is honed by practice. I could practice running the 100 meter dash everyday for the rest of my life and I would still never be able to beat an olympic sprinter. I might get better and faster...
