World-Class Customer Service Experience with Schmelke

I ordered a 23 oz. Break cue with Purpleheart butt and shaft. Breaks like a ton of bricks!!!! Love it, and you cannot beat the price. Friend wanted one in 18 oz, so I called them, and as GentlemanJames said, never talked to a customer rep that was so knowledgeable about a product. She then found...

    Pure x jump break

I had a high dollar OB break cue, got stolen one night while playing league. I now use a cheap 25oz rage break cue for 8 ball break. Could not keep any tip on it, after the White diamond flew off, I got a tip shaper and rounded off the end, beat the Hell out of it with a tip prick tool. Works...

    People bitching about 7’ tables

I started shooting pool in 1964 when I started college at FT Hays State, Ks. place called the Golden Cue had 12 9' tables.. Worked there for 1&1/2 yrs. When I would go home, played on bar tables. Had no problem switching back and forth. I read some where that it took 27 balls on a 9' table to...

    Help With Vison

Maybe I am just getting old (75), but seems like my eyes get tired after several games and I start missing simple shots. I wear progressive lens and can obtain 20-15 on the eye charts. Have an 8 rating in ACS league play. Am wondering if there are some drops for my eyes or maybe some tinted lens...

Something I don't understand about pool

Not trying to Hi-jack the thread, but one respondent mentioned pocket width. It amazes me that with a sport as regulated with rules as pool, there is no set size for pockets. I play in a league where all the tables have larger pockets than one place. It has smaller pockets and the team that...

Tip - what Flavor is everybody using these days

26oz break stick has a phenolic tip. McDermott cue has a medium Kamui black with clear base. Old Helmstetter has brown Kamui soft. Really like Kamui tips and chalk.

    Let's talk chalk

Fast tone, you are the only person I have ever heard that has complained about Kamui chalk. I have used it for several years in many places and no one has complained. I like it because you do not have to chalk the tip as often and it seems to stay on the tip better. Yes it is expensive, but I...

    Shane's draw break

I do not play in tournaments for the very reason of CS refs. I do not see how any one could call Shane's break soft. He scattered balls all over the table and made one in the corner pocket. Soft Break my rear!!!!!

    Strong opinion: Dress Codes Needed

Where I come from in SW Ks. most all of us dress in what most would call casual attire. Jeans, T-shirts, etc. I generally wear a tee shirt that is nice with the NRA logo because I am a Benefactor member. It is not tucked in. If I had to play in a tournament I would tuck it in. I think a collared...

How Does an APA 7 Go Down to a 6?

APA Operator Thank you for your comments. Please explain how they were all changed at the same time. Also could you answer my 2nd question about how my friend and I could have the same averages with the figures I stated? Thank you for your time.

How Does an APA 7 Go Down to a 6?

I play in a local 9 ball leaque in which there are only a couple of 6's, several 5's mostly 4's and 3's with some 2's All of a sudden all the girls that were 3's were all dropped to 2's. In many of the members opinions there is only one girl that should be a 2 because she is a very poor player...

Bias with Your Own Team's Playing Order? (long)

Not trying to steal your thread, but I think our league team has a similar problem. However, it does not involve money. It is the MVP award. One of our team members is in the running for the award. Our team is probably going to be 2nd or 3rd. He sat out the other night when we played the top...

    Tip shaver

A fellow forum member tipped me to a set of tip shavers on Ebay. Supposed to trim different size tips. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!! They are junk!!!!! They are all the same size. Blades are too long and will trim the ferrule also. If you hold it so it does not trim the ferrule , it trims the tip...

When did getting low on the cue happen?

I have been playing pool since 1964. Have worn glasses all my life. Would some one please explain about pool glasses. I have progressive lenses because of being near sighted. Just got new glasses three weeks ago. Can still get to 20-15 on the charts. I was taught to shoot low over the cue...

    Helmstetter cue shaft

I got this cue from a friend who recently passed. It is an older Helmstetter with a 5/16"x18 threaded shaft with a small metal pilot piece that fits in a recess in the butt joint. I would like to save this original shaft and find a laminated one to replace it. It has also acquired a slight warp...
