    Shaft diameter to skill level

Please don't misunderstand me, this isn't a post asking for what the best equipment is so I can sky rocket my game up to the level of pros What I'm asking is, from the stand point of an instructor, if I may have gone too far too fast, would it be beneficial to back off a bit? To take a step back...

    Shaft diameter to skill level

Hi, just a quick question for the instructors and those interested. Recently I was talking with a fellow player at my league and he spoke of going from a super soft tip to a medium and found his potting skills to get improve. He concluded that he was making fewer mistakes as a result of...

Pros and cons for different kinds of woods

Hi, I've been looking to get a custom cue made and the woods I've chosen are Amboyna, Honduran rosewood, and leopard wood. I was wondering if these were good woods to use and if there were any issues over time. Obviously I want to be satisfie with the cue I have made and I doubt the cue maker...

How to replace the object ball with the cue ball

Just as the title says. Last night I was playing in league (barbox 8 ball) and I was running the table on my break. It was a poor decision to leave the difficult ball for last but my position was off in a few shots and thats just how the pattern worked out. To get position on my Key ball I...

    English on certain shots

I'm curious what advantage or purpose there to use side English on shots where the CB doesn't touch a cushion. I understand that top and bottom English take effect on object ball contact and side English takes effect on cushion contact so what is the point in using side when the CB doesn't go...

    Kamui Glove

I love the kamui glove but I hate how the design that has the finger tips missing. It's a quality product and it feels so much better than the cheaper ones but I can't use a closed bridge because my middle finger is just long enough that too much skin is exposed. The glove only extends to just...

How to adjust to new and different tables

I saw some info in another post about adjusting to table conditions and i thought I'd bring it up in a new thread if that's okay. While I find I am not always as aware of my game as I should be, I know how to pot balls and I have a general idea of position play but I always play on the same...

    Advice for 2nd ball break

I like the spread of the 2nd ball break on the cloth I play on and I don't llay in APA so an 8ball break isn't an immediate win

    Advice for 2nd ball break

I always break from the left because it's the more comfortable bridge, so I'll try low right when I try the 2nd ball break

    Advice for 2nd ball break

Well when I say consistently jumping off the table I mean every time I try it on any table with any set of balls. Dialing it down a bit might work and I know not to elevate so maybe I'm hitting the CB low? That would make sense right?

    Advice for 2nd ball break

I'm looking for some advice on my 2nd ball break. I recently got a Mezz power break with a samsara tip and every time I break I pop the cue ball off the table. Before I got my break cue I was using a bar cue with a softer tip I never had this problems and I really liked the 2nd ball break. I try...

Glasses aren't just for the vision impaired

No that's just how the thread is progressing, I originally mentioned the glasses designed for video gamers, how they were supposed to help alleviate eye strain which can be a part of pool if you play for hours at a time

Glasses aren't just for the vision impaired

So the player I mentioned that has specific glasses, imagine a normal pair but with a top to the frame, they are held just by the sides and bottom and a extended upwards just enough to so he can see normally while playing, as in built upwards. Made specifically for him

Glasses aren't just for the vision impaired

I was curious if anyone has used or seen anyone using glasses for playing billiards, I mean spectacles specifically for shooting? I've seen videos of Strickland using glasses and there's a player here that uses glasses that are built up so the prescription is the same as his normal viewing...

    Snake Skin Wrap

A rattle snake won't have a big enough girth to wrap a cue with, too much belly, the only option would be to use two backs which makes for two seams and a lot more work, better to find a different breed of snake

    OB Lift

I agree completely, personally I think it's hideous but I'm more interested in how the cue plays considering their softer ferrule.
