anybody having problems with samsara tip layers coming apart?

Yes

The top little bit, probably a layer or two, came off mine a couple weeks ago. It's not a big deal, but it definitely shouldn't happen with a $15 (or whatever it was) tip.

I bought it at SBE and installed it when I got back, I agree a $15 dls tip should last up to the last layer.

Yes, I have the same problem with my tip. 2nd layer is separating a bit.

Tip separation

I had the first layer separate about 2 weeks after I had it installed. I just reshaped it and kept going. No more problems for over a year.
