who me?
Take lessons
My friend Jack asked me to come to Temple,he said
he could teach me.
When I got there Jack had become an old man,he thought I was the old man
He tried to show me how to play straight pool but got frustrated because I
shoot too quick, can't control the cue ball, make long shots or see patterns
He finally said my problem had nothing to do with straight pool,
my problem was pool period.
Jack said his memory wasn't as good as it used to be,but he remembered
that I wasn't very good but now I was terrible
Jack then raised his two fingers in the old cub scout fashion and swore
he would never bet on me even if I got the nuts.
He went so far as to give me advice that he would give me if I were
his brother, which was "Quit now, because no one could possibly be of any help.
He said I should not waste my time seeing Ray Martin (my long time dream,
I had always admired Ray and I was sure that he was the greatest living player at least at one time)
Jack agreed but said I would need Houdini, that Ray Martin would never
survive the lessons.
He did close on a positive note,he said that he appreciated all the money I had won for him over the years, something about how well I held up for big money when I had the Hungarian nuts.
I thanked him for the good advice and friendship, I felt compelled to ask if
he was serious about never betting on me again. He put his right hand on his left breast and said something about a cardiologist.
To his credit ,he did ask if i would consider staking someone who
could make a ball. I asked if he knew such a person and he had to think before his parting words"I used to "

Ah come on man.....sometimes things are so bad they only get better. However I took music lessons. My teacher dubbed me Mr. Pitifull and suggested I save my parents money. That was that.
Anyway if you are ever going to take lessons.... DelRay Beach is the place. Learn to play the drum correctly. TomTom is your guy.
Frank...You know better! Just as you needed to improve the quality and accuracy of your stroke, before Tom could help you play better one pocket...Dean has the same issues. He should be seeing randyg in Dallas, long before wasting his time and money with Tom in FL...but that won't happen.

I stand corrected. I should have said "get the ball rolling....all the way to the bottom of the hole".
